Easy Paper Plate Minion Craft

My 4-year-old niece refers to minions as “the funny guys” and she is so right! When my kids discovered the stack of white paper plates in our craft cabinet, they couldn’t help but make some funny guys of their own. Using paint, plates, construction paper, and buttons, kids of all ages will enjoy making minions at home.

Supplies to Make DIY Minions craft

You only need a few supplies to make this minion craft like: paint, paint brush, paper plate, construction paper, googly eyes, and buttons!

Directions To Make This Fun and Simple Minion Craft

Step 1

After gathering supplies, invite kids to paint 1 paper plate yellow and the other paper plate blue.

Step 2

Allow the paint to dry completely.

Step 3

When the plates are dry, cut the blue plate in half.

Step 4

Glue it down to the yellow plate.

Step 5

Cut straps for the minion’s overalls from the remaining blue paper plate. Glue them down. Next, cut 2 large black circles (we traced the bottom of mason jar) and glue the large wiggly eyes to the center.

Glue 2 large black buttons to the bottom of the overall straps. Use the black marker to draw a pocket on the minion’s overalls.

Our Experience With This Minions Craft

When I made this craft with my kids they were so excited for the new Despicable Me 3 movie. I have to say…Despicable Me is one of my favorite kid movie series. Which is why I decided we would make our own minions.
