We often think of the eyes as the most expressive part of the face, and in many ways, they are. But the lips also shape how we communicate and connect. They move with every word, shift with emotion, and quietly define the way we’re seen. The way our lips rest, speak, and smile plays a powerful role in how we present ourselves. For those with naturally thin lips, that presence can feel less defined. Smiles may appear smaller, and expressions may not carry the same fullness or warmth. Lip fillers for thin lips provide a way to add balance, shape, and subtle volume to a feature that often deserves more attention.

With just a small adjustment, lip fillers can help create a more harmonious look that feels true to how you see yourself. When a feature feels right, that subtle shift in confidence can make a lasting difference in how you navigate the world.

What Lip Fillers Can Do for Thin Lips

Lip Fillers on Thin Lips | Non-Surgical Treatment in Buffalo, NY

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we use hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Juvéderm® and Restylane®, for lip treatments because they check all the right boxes. They are safe, effective, and natural-looking.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance your body naturally produces, especially in your skin and connective tissue. That means when we inject HA into the lips, your body treats it like a familiar guest. It blends in smoothly with your natural tissue, making reactions rare and results remarkably natural in both look and feel. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, which is a fancy way of saying it attracts and retains moisture. Once injected, it draws water into the lips and locks it in place. The result is more than volume—your lips look fuller, feel softer, and stay hydrated from the inside out.

One of the reasons patients love hyaluronic acid fillers is that the results show up almost immediately. If you want to achieve more shape or need a minor adjustment, we can build on your results in future appointments. And if you’re ever unhappy with the outcome, HA fillers can be dissolved using a special enzyme. That level of control is one of the reasons they’re so popular.

Lip Fillers on Thin Lips: What to Expect From Your First Treatment

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we take a personalized approach to every treatment. If you’re considering lip fillers, our team is here to guide you through the process with care, experience, and attention to detail. From your first consultation to follow-up care, you’ll know exactly what to expect.

  • Consultation and planning: We begin by learning about your goals and reviewing your medical history. We assess your lip shape and discuss the look you want to achieve. From there, we design a treatment plan that fits your features and prioritizes your safety.
  • Preparation and comfort: Before we start, we cleanse the lip area with an antibacterial solution to reduce the risk of infection. We then apply a topical numbing cream or local anesthetic to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible throughout the treatment.
  • Precise mapping and injections: We may mark the injection sites to guide placement, ensuring symmetry and balance. Using a fine needle, we carefully place the filler to add volume and shape based on your plan. Our techniques help prevent overfilling and create a smooth, natural result.
  • Sculpting and immediate care: After injecting, we gently massage the lips to evenly distribute the filler and sculpt the final shape. We also apply ice if needed to reduce swelling and check in with you to make sure everything looks and feels right before you leave.
  • Aftercare and follow-up: We provide clear instructions to help you care for your lips at home. You’ll know what to avoid during the healing process, and we may schedule a follow-up visit to ensure you’re satisfied with your results and address any questions you may have.

Balance, Definition, and Confidence Start Here

Lips play a quiet but powerful role in how we express ourselves. For those with naturally thin lips, a subtle enhancement can bring balance, softness, and a more defined presence to the face. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we use safe and proven hyaluronic acid fillers to achieve results that feel natural and look refined. Our personalized approach ensures your treatment is thoughtfully planned, precisely performed, and tailored to you.

If fuller, more confident lips feel aligned with your goals, we invite you to book a consultation with our experienced team.

Your face tells a story. It reflects your personality, your expressions, and sometimes the stress of everyday life. It also holds tension, especially in the jaw. When we use injectables, our goal isn’t to change how you look but to support how you feel. Treatments are carefully selected, with a focus on balance, precision, and your individual goals. One treatment we often get questions about is masseter Botox. Many people know it can help relax the jaw muscles, which is why it’s sometimes associated with relief from teeth grinding or TMJ discomfort. While those effects are well known, our focus is on its cosmetic benefits. Masseter Botox can slim a fuller lower face, soften a strong jawline, and create natural-looking contour without surgery.

Understanding the Masseter Muscle

Masseter Botox in Buffalo, NY | Refine Your Jaw and Ease Tension

The masseter is one of the strongest muscles in your body. It sits on each side of your jaw, connecting the cheekbone to the lower edge of the jaw. When you bite down or chew, the masseter takes the lead. It contracts with force and control, lifting the jaw to help you process food efficiently.

Like any muscle that sees frequent and intense use, the masseter can grow in size. This process, known as hypertrophy, occurs when muscle fibers thicken in response to repeated strain. Over time, everyday actions can place more demand on this muscle than you might expect.

People who grind their teeth or clench their jaw—especially during sleep—are repeatedly activating the masseter. This constant tension encourages the muscle to grow. Even habits like frequent gum chewing or eating tough foods can contribute to a more prominent jawline. Emotional stress also plays a role. When stress builds, the jaw often responds by clenching, sometimes without conscious awareness.

Certain jobs and activities can add to this effect. Musicians who play wind instruments, athletes who use mouthguards, or anyone with regular jaw tension may notice a stronger, more defined masseter over time.

As the muscle enlarges, it can change the shape of the lower face. The jawline may appear wider or more angular. If one side is more active than the other, it can also affect facial symmetry.

How Can Masseter Botox Create a Slimmer, Softer Jawline?

When we treat the masseter with Botox, we reduce the frequency and strength of muscle contractions. This helps slow down the cycle of overuse that may have caused the muscle to become overly prominent in the first place. You can still chew, speak, and move your jaw as you normally would, but the muscle is no longer working overtime behind the scenes.

As the muscle becomes less active, it starts to lose bulk. This happens gradually, not all at once. Over the next several weeks, the jawline begins to take on a softer, more sculpted appearance. The lower face may appear slimmer, and the transition between the cheek and jaw can seem smoother and more proportionate.

Botox in this area is especially helpful when the shape of the jaw has changed over time due to repeated strain. That strain might come from nighttime clenching, chewing habits, muscle tension held in the face, or a naturally strong bite that has caused the masseter to build up over the years. Even in people with a genetically wider jaw, treatment can bring noticeable refinement.

We focus on creating change that feels like it fits your face, not an artificial correction, but a measured adjustment that allows your features to work together more fluidly. The goal is to bring ease to the areas that have been working too hard and to let the natural structure of your face come forward with less resistance.

Learn What Masseter Botox Could Do for You

Every face holds patterns: of expression, of effort, of habit. Some tell a story you’ve chosen. Others are shaped by tension you never intended to keep. When treatment is approached with restraint and clarity, it does not erase those patterns. It refines them. Masseter Botox offers a way to soften what has been overworked and restore balance to the jawline. To determine if this treatment is suitable for you, schedule a consultation with our team.

We hear it often—beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But the person we look at most isn’t someone else. It’s ourselves. We glance in mirrors, catch our reflection in windows, and notice details others would likely miss. And sometimes, it’s the lips that quietly stand out. For some, they’ve always been small—delicate in proportion, yet leaving a sense of something unfinished. For others, time gently changes the shape, the volume, or the fullness once taken for granted. Our features don’t exist in isolation. The shape of the lips can soften a face, anchor a smile, even shift the tone of our expression. For those with small lips, or lips that feel like they’ve lost their shape over time, lip augmentation can offer more than volume. It can restore proportion. Add softness. Invite symmetry. And do so in a way that feels graceful and entirely your own.

There’s a vision behind this kind of care: to help you look in the mirror and feel seen—not altered, not improved, but revealed. And sometimes, all it takes is the smallest change to reflect the truest version of you.

The Science Behind Small Lips: What Age, Lifestyle, and Genetics Reveal

Small Lips | Explore Natural-Looking Enhancements in Buffalo, NY

Some of us are simply born with smaller lips. It’s part of our natural anatomy—just like having wider eyes or a sharper jawline. But if your lips have started to feel less full or defined than they used to, it’s not just your imagination. Lips can and do change over time—and several key factors are responsible.

These changes often start with collagen. This essential protein gives lips their shape, firmness, and natural plumpness. But beginning as early as your 20s, your body starts producing less of it each year. That gradual decline means your lips slowly lose volume and structure, leading to a thinner, softer appearance.

Sun exposure is another culprit. Ultraviolet (UV) rays don’t just age the skin on your face—they also break down collagen in the lips. Over time, this leads to fine lines, loss of elasticity, and lips that look less defined around the edges.

Then there’s smoking. The chemicals in cigarettes restrict blood flow and introduce toxins that damage skin tissue. That means fewer nutrients, less oxygen, and faster aging—especially around the mouth. Smoking can accelerate thinning, dullness, and the formation of vertical lip lines.

Even the way we use our lips contributes to change. Talking, laughing, sipping, frowning—all those small, repeated muscle movements slowly leave their mark. While expressions are a beautiful part of being human, they also add to the wear on the delicate tissue around the mouth.

How Lip Fillers Gently Add Volume, Shape, and Symmetry

For those with smaller lips—or anyone noticing a gradual loss of fullness—hyaluronic acid fillers offer a reliable, natural-looking way to restore shape and volume. These fillers, used in brands like Juvéderm® and Restylane®, are based on a substance already present in your skin and connective tissue.

Because hyaluronic acid is already part of your biology, it’s well-accepted by the body and carries a low risk of allergic reaction. But what makes it especially suited for lip enhancement is its ability to attract and retain moisture. When placed strategically, it draws water into the area, creating soft, even volume that integrates beautifully into the lips.

In practice, this means we can use small amounts of filler to enhance definition, add fullness, or improve symmetry—depending on your individual features and goals. Injection points might include the vermilion border (the outer edge of the lip) or the lip body (the center of the upper or lower lip), each selected to shape the lips in a way that feels balanced and intentional.

Some studies also suggest that HA fillers may support natural collagen production over time, which can help maintain lip structure even after the filler begins to dissolve.

One of the biggest advantages of HA fillers is control. You can opt for a soft, barely-there enhancement or something more noticeable. Every result is tailored to you—not just in volume, but in proportion and overall harmony with your face.

As we welcome Memorial Day weekend—the unofficial start of summer—many of us will head outdoors to enjoy the sunshine, picnics, and recreation. But before you step outside, it’s critical to think about how you’re protecting your skin from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, I want to emphasize the importance of smart sun safety practices—not just for aesthetic reasons, but for your long-term skin health.

Why Sun Protection Matters

Exposure to UV rays—especially UVA and UVB—can accelerate skin aging, cause hyperpigmentation, and increase the risk of skin cancer. A good sun protection strategy combines smart behavior with the right products.

Sunscreen Essentials

  • Choose Broad Spectrum: Look for “broad spectrum” on the label. This means protection from both UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) rays.
  • SPF 30–50 is Ideal: Higher SPF numbers may seem better, but studies show minimal additional benefit beyond SPF 50. SPF 30–50 offers strong protection when applied correctly.
  • Reapply Often: Apply sunscreen 15–30 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every 2 hours—or sooner if swimming or sweating. And for the face, use 2 1/2 finger lengths or a quarter size amount for the face to assure you get enough protection.
  • Don’t Skip Cloudy Days: UV rays penetrate clouds, so daily protection is essential, even when it’s overcast.

Physical (Mineral) vs. Chemical Sunscreens

There’s growing awareness—and concern—about the ingredients in chemical sunscreens. Research has shown that certain chemical UV filters can be absorbed into the bloodstream, with measurable levels lasting for days after application. While the long-term effects are still under review, this raises reasonable concern for daily users.

Mineral-based sunscreens, made with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, sit on the skin’s surface and reflect UV rays rather than absorbing them. They are generally considered safe, effective, and non-irritating, even for sensitive skin.

Avoid These Pitfalls

  • Skip the Spray: Spray sunscreens may seem convenient, but they pose an inhalation risk, especially for children. They also can be applied unevenly.
  • Don’t Believe the Hype: Some social media influencers promote skipping sunscreen altogether. That’s not just misleading—it’s dangerous. Unprotected sun exposure causes cumulative damage that shows up as wrinkles, sunspots, and worse.

Sun-Smart Lifestyle Tips

  • Seek Shade: Especially between 10 AM and 4 PM when the sun is strongest.
  • Wear Protective Clothing: Lightweight, long-sleeve SPF-rated shirts and pants can keep you cool and protected.
  • Don’t Forget the Hat: A wide-brimmed hat shields your face, ears, and neck better than a baseball cap.
  • Use Sunglasses: UV protection for your eyes helps prevent cataracts and protects the delicate skin around them.

Final Thoughts

Taking a few extra minutes to protect your skin can have a lifetime of benefits. Whether you’re enjoying a backyard barbecue or a walk on the beach, make sunscreen—and common sense—a part of your summer routine.

Wishing you a safe, healthy, and sun-smart start to summer from your Aesthetic and Skin Care Team at the Aesthetic Associates Centre.

Bunny lines—what a cute name for something that tends to overstay its welcome. These little crinkles have likely made an appearance during your most expressive moments: scrunching your nose at an inside joke, feigning shock at some scandalous gossip, or simply smiling so big that your whole face joined in. They mark laughter, mischief, and personality, etching themselves into the skin like a record of all the times you’ve reacted just a little too hard. But what happens when those fleeting moments stop being so fleeting? When the creases meant for a single second start settling in, sticking around long after the joke has passed? For some, a bunny line here and there becomes a feature they’d rather not have front and center—a little too permanent for comfort.

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we offer non-surgical solutions to soften those stubborn bunny lines—without erasing the personality behind them. Think of it as a gentle way to hit “refresh” on your expressions, keeping the charm but dialing back the crinkles. Because while your smile should leave a lasting impression, your wrinkles don’t have to.

What’s a Bunny Line and Why Does It Show Up?

Bunny Line Treatment in Buffalo, NY | Restore a Natural Look

Bunny lines are those small, diagonal wrinkles that appear on either side of your nose, stretching from the inner corners of your eyes toward your cheeks. You’ll often spot them when someone smiles, laughs, squints, or scrunches their nose—movements that give these lines their charming name. They mimic the twitchy little motion of a rabbit’s nose, which is why they’re called “bunny lines.”

These lines start as dynamic wrinkles—meaning they only appear when your face moves. Over time, however, they can deepen and become static wrinkles that linger even when your face is relaxed.

The root cause of bunny lines is repeated muscle movement. Every time you smile, laugh, or squint, the nasalis muscle (the muscle responsible for wrinkling the nose) contracts. Over the years, these repetitive motions crease the skin in the same areas again and again. If you’re naturally expressive, you may see bunny lines appear earlier in life.

But it’s not just facial expressions at play. As we age, our skin loses collagen and elastin—the proteins that keep it firm and elastic. By the time you hit your 30s, collagen production decreases by about 1% each year. As these supportive proteins decline, the fine lines caused by expression become more permanent.

Lifestyle factors can also accelerate the formation of bunny lines. Excessive sun exposure, smoking, dehydration, and even poor skincare habits all weaken the skin and make these wrinkles more noticeable.

In short, bunny lines tell a story—a story of smiles, squints, and the natural aging process. While they may seem like a small detail, for many people, they can feel like an unwelcome sign of aging.

Bunny Line Wrinkles: What Are Your Treatment Options?

Once bunny lines start sticking around longer than you’d like, there are a few science-backed ways to smooth them out—without surgery or downtime. These treatment options target the root causes of these wrinkles, helping you soften their appearance while keeping your natural expressions intact.

Botox: Relax the Muscle, Reduce the Wrinkle

One of the most effective ways to treat a bunny line is with Botox®—a purified form of botulinum toxin. When injected precisely into the nasalis muscle, Botox temporarily relaxes that muscle. As a result, the skin over it smooths out, and those diagonal wrinkles fade.

The procedure itself is quick and straightforward. In just a few small injections, the muscle activity that deepens bunny lines is reduced. This treatment doesn’t freeze your entire face—it only targets the specific muscle creating the wrinkle, so your natural expressions remain. By calming repetitive muscle movements, you’re essentially stopping those wrinkles in their tracks.

Dermal Fillers: Restore Volume and Smooth Static Wrinkles

For bunny lines that have settled in and become more pronounced over time, dermal fillers offer a highly effective way to restore smoothness and volume. Injectables like Juvéderm® and Restylane®, which consist of hyaluronic acid (a substance your skin naturally produces), do more than just “fill” wrinkles.

When placed strategically around bunny lines, fillers restore lost volume beneath the skin’s surface, softening the depth of each crease. They also attract and hold water molecules, delivering hydration to the skin from within. Over time, this added moisture and volume improve the skin’s texture, elasticity, and firmness.

Many fillers also encourage collagen production—a key protein that keeps your skin smooth and resilient. So, while the results are immediate, the skin continues to benefit long after the appointment.

Bring Back Your Fresh, Natural Look

Your smile, your laughter, your spark—they deserve to shine without the extra lines tagging along. If your bunny lines have started to feel a little too permanent, we’re here to help you smooth things over.

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we believe in enhancing your natural beauty—not masking it. It’s fascinating to think that something as ordinary as light—something we take for granted every day—can be fine-tuned to improve our skin. Who would have thought that carefully controlled pulses of light could target pigmentation, reduce redness, or even help with hair removal? It almost feels counterintuitive. Light is everywhere, yet when used precisely, it becomes a tool for skincare rather than just something that brightens a room. It’s one of those advancements that makes you pause for a moment and think, Wait. We can do that? At Aesthetic Associates Centre, we harness the power of IPL treatment to help you achieve clearer, more radiant skin. IPL addresses common concerns like sun damage, age spots, and uneven skin tone by delivering targeted light energy with minimal downtime. It’s an incredible way to let light work for you in ways you never imagined.

What Is IPL Treatment?

IPL Treatment in Buffalo, NY | Advanced Skin Rejuvenation

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy harnesses high-powered, broad-spectrum light to address various skin concerns. The name itself—Intense Pulsed Light—captures the three key elements that make this technology effective: intensity, pulsed delivery, and the use of multiple wavelengths.

IPL delivers concentrated bursts of light energy. This light is strong enough to penetrate the skin, break down unwanted pigmentation, shrink visible blood vessels, or disrupt hair follicles. This intensity makes IPL capable of treating sun damage, redness, and excess hair with noticeable results. However, it’s carefully controlled to ensure safety and effectiveness, preventing unnecessary exposure to heat.

Rather than emitting a continuous beam, IPL releases light in short, rapid pulses. These controlled bursts allow for targeted treatment while preventing excessive heat buildup, which could otherwise damage the skin. By delivering energy in milliseconds, IPL maximizes effectiveness while protecting the skin’s surface.

Unlike lasers that use a single wavelength, IPL emits multiple wavelengths, ranging from 400 to 1200 nanometers. To put that into perspective, a nanometer is one-billionth of a meter. We’re talking about measurements on a microscopic scale. This broad-spectrum approach allows IPL to interact with different chromophores, the light-absorbing molecules in the skin.

How IPL Treatment Works: Restoring Clearer, Healthier Skin

Once IPL light reaches its target, chromophores absorb the energy and convert it into heat. This controlled heat breaks down pigment and shrinks blood vessels—all while preserving the surrounding skin. By combining intensity, pulsed precision, and a broad spectrum of light, IPL offers a versatile, effective, and non-invasive way to refresh and rejuvenate the skin.

For pigmentation concerns, IPL effectively breaks down excess melanin, helping to fade age spots, sun damage, freckles, birthmarks, and other forms of hyperpigmentation, including melasma. Over time, these dark patches lighten as the body naturally processes the fragmented pigment.

For vascular issues, IPL shrinks dilated blood vessels and calms inflammation, making it particularly effective for conditions like rosacea, facial redness, spider veins, and broken capillaries. By gently heating the hemoglobin in the blood, IPL helps collapse and fade these visible veins without harming the surrounding tissue. IPL also improves overall skin texture and tone. By stimulating collagen production, it helps soften fine lines, smooth rough skin, and restore a firmer, more youthful appearance. Additionally, IPL’s antibacterial properties make it an effective option for managing active acne and reducing the appearance of acne scars.

Elevate Your Results With Combination Therapy

Pairing IPL treatment with facials is like fueling your body with both exercise and proper nutrition—each works independently, but together, they amplify results. While IPL penetrates beneath the skin’s surface to target pigmentation, redness, and hair follicles, facials nourish, hydrate, and support the skin’s outermost layers. When combined, these treatments create a well-rounded approach to skin rejuvenation that enhances both immediate radiance and long-term skin health.

IPL treatments and facials complement each other by addressing different layers of the skin. Facials prepare the skin, ensuring it’s properly cleansed and hydrated, which can improve light penetration during IPL. After IPL, a facial can soothe the skin, replenish moisture, and accelerate the healing process. This synergy makes treatments more effective and helps the skin recover faster, leaving it not just looking better—but truly healthier.

Discover What IPL Can Do for You

Skincare has come a long way from simple creams and serums. Today, technology allows us to work with the skin—not just on it—to restore balance, clarity, and radiance. IPL treatment is a perfect example of how science and skincare intersect, using light as a tool to target concerns at their source. Find out what’s possible for your skin. Contact us today to schedule a consultation.

Of all the beauty treatments designed to restore a youthful look, few spark more debate than injectables. We’ve all seen what happens when things go too far—puffy cheeks that blur natural contours and an uncanny smoothness that erases expression. The result is that telltale overfilled look known as “pillow face.” It’s a common fear that keeps many from exploring the benefits of dermal fillers. But the truth is, bad filler isn’t inevitable—it’s completely avoidable. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we believe enhancement should never come at the expense of authenticity. With expert technique and a careful, personalized approach, we ensure you achieve refreshed, natural-looking results—never an overdone look that gives away your secret. Here, subtlety is the art.

What Is Pillow Face?

Pillow Face | Discover Natural Filler Solutions in Buffalo, NY

We all love the idea of youthful, plump skin. However, there’s a fine line between a refreshed look and an overfilled one. Pillow face describes the overly puffy, unnatural appearance that results from excessive or poorly placed dermal fillers. Instead of subtle enhancement, too much volume can erase natural contours, leaving the face looking swollen, tight, and expressionless.

The telltale signs of pillow face include exaggerated roundness and a loss of definition in the jawline and chin. The skin may also take on an unnaturally smooth or shiny texture, especially in areas like the cheeks and under-eyes. Fillers are meant to restore volume and combat signs of aging. However, when overused, they can backfire—making the face appear bloated rather than sculpted.

So, how does it happen? Pillow face is often the result of injecting too much filler, placing it too close to the surface, or ignoring the natural proportions of the face. When fillers are layered incorrectly, they can stretch the skin and weigh down facial features, distorting the natural harmony of the face.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable, gel-like substances that add volume beneath the skin. We use them to restore lost fullness, smooth out wrinkles, plump lips, and enhance facial contours. Fillers create a more youthful and refreshed appearance by targeting areas prone to aging or volume loss.

The most common type of filler contains hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a substance the body produces that helps retain moisture and elasticity. HA-based fillers, such as Juvéderm® and Restylane®, provide immediate results by binding to water molecules, adding volume and hydration to the skin. Over time, the body gradually breaks down the filler, making hyaluronic acid a temporary but effective option.

Other fillers work differently. Sculptra®, for example, contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which acts as a biostimulant rather than just a volumizer. Instead of simply filling in hollow areas, PLLA stimulates collagen production, gradually improving skin structure and restoring lost volume over time. Sculptra is an excellent choice for treating more significant facial volume loss with long-lasting effects.

If you’ve fallen victim to pillow face, don’t panic—it’s not permanent. Most fillers break down naturally, meaning the overfilled look will fade over time. Hyaluronic acid fillers typically dissolve within six months to a year, gradually restoring a more natural facial shape.

How We Prevent Pillow Face at the Aesthetic Associates Centre

You want to look refreshed, not overdone, and we’re here to make sure you get just that. Preventing pillow face isn’t about avoiding fillers altogether—it’s about working with the right professionals and taking a thoughtful, balanced approach.

We believe in enhancing your features, not changing them. We often take a conservative approach, using techniques like microdosing and gradual layering to build volume naturally. Instead of rushing the process, we space out treatments, giving your fillers time to settle and blend seamlessly with your facial structure.

Choosing an experienced injector is just as important as the technique itself. We assess your entire face—not just one area—to maintain balance and proportion. We also use only high-quality, FDA-approved fillers, ensuring safe, natural-looking results.

Your role doesn’t end when you leave the office. Following post-treatment care and scheduling regular check-ins help keep your results looking their best. Small, well-planned adjustments over time will always look more natural than overfilling in one session.

We want you to love how you look—confident, refreshed, and completely yourself. With the right approach, you can enjoy the benefits of fillers without ever worrying about looking overdone.

When we hear the word “injectables,” our minds often jump to beauty enhancement—but what does that really mean? Are we talking about softening fine lines, restoring lost volume, or sculpting more defined facial contours? The truth is that injectables like Botox injections and dermal fillers aren’t a one-size-fits-all solution. With various treatments available, each designed to address specific concerns, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the options. Botox® relaxes facial muscles to smooth out wrinkles, while dermal fillers restore lost volume and enhance facial contours. Understanding the differences is key to choosing the right treatment—one that enhances your natural beauty in a way that feels authentically you.

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, our approach to injectables is simple: natural-looking results that bring out your best features. If you want to smooth wrinkles or restore lost volume, we help you choose the right treatment for your goals—so you still look like you, just refreshed and more confident.

What Are Injectables?

Botox Injections in Buffalo, NY | Rejuvenate Your Skin Today!

The word “injectables” may seem self-explanatory—they’re treatments delivered through injections—but there’s more to them than just the method of application. In aesthetics, injectables are non-surgical treatments that enhance facial features, restore lost volume, and smooth out wrinkles without surgery. They provide noticeable results with little to no downtime, making them a popular choice for those looking to refresh their appearance efficiently.

Depending on the type, injectables can:

  • Relax facial muscles to soften wrinkles and prevent new lines from forming
  • Restore volume to areas that have thinned over time
  • Define and enhance features like the cheekbones and jawline
  • Plump and shape the lips
  • Improve skin texture and elasticity
  • Reduce stubborn fat in targeted areas, such as under the chin

By offering a range of benefits, injectables can achieve natural-looking enhancements without major commitment—so much so that they’re often called “lunchtime treatments” because you can walk in for a quick refresh and be back to your day before your coffee cools.

Botox Injections vs. Dermal Fillers: What’s the Difference?

Aging, sun exposure, and lifestyle factors can all contribute to fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss in the face. Botox® and dermal fillers are two of the most popular non-surgical treatments available to restore a more youthful appearance. While they share the same goal, they work in very different ways. Understanding their differences—and similarities—can help you determine which treatment is right for you.

How Botox Works

Botox® is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A  that momentarily reduces muscle movement by disrupting nerve signals. These neuromodulators prevent muscle contractions, which helps smooth wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions. While “Botox” is often used as a general term, there are several FDA-approved botulinum toxin products, including OnabotulinumtoxinA (Botox®) and AbobotulinumtoxinA (Dysport®), each works to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, helping to create a more youthful and refreshed look.

It is most effective at treating:

  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Frown lines between the eyebrows

Over time, the repeated movements of our expressions leave behind lasting imprints on the skin. Botox gently slows this process, softening lines without erasing the emotions behind them.

How Dermal Fillers Work

Dermal fillers add volume beneath the skin to restore lost fullness, smooth deep wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. Unlike Botox, which relaxes muscles, fillers plump and support the skin from within. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is one of the most common types of dermal filler, known for its ability to hydrate and add natural-looking volume. Calcium hydroxylapatite provides structure while also stimulating collagen production, helping to maintain firmer skin over time. Poly-L-lactic acid encourages the body’s natural collagen production, leading to gradual and long-lasting volume restoration.

We commonly use fillers to:

  • Plump lips
  • Enhance cheekbones
  • Smooth deep smile lines
  • Fill hollows under the eyes

Aging is more than just wrinkles; it’s also about volume loss, the subtle shift that makes cheeks flatter, lips thinner, and contours less defined. Fillers restore that lost structure, working beneath the skin to support and reshape it in a way that looks natural.

Explore Your Options With Botox Injections and Dermal Fillers Today

Confidence comes from feeling good in your skin, and injectables offer a way to enhance—not change—what makes you uniquely you. Whether you’re looking to soften fine lines with Botox or restore youthful contours with dermal fillers, the right treatment can help you look as vibrant on the outside as you feel on the inside.

At Aesthetic Associates Centre, we believe in natural, personalized results that honor your features while giving you a refreshed, confident glow. If you’re curious about how injectables can help you achieve your goals, schedule a consultation today.

In the dynamic field of cosmetic surgery, the pursuit of excellence involves not only mastering surgical techniques but also integrating innovative technologies to enhance outcomes. One of the most promising advances in facial and neck rejuvenation is the use of Morpheus8—a groundbreaking device that combines microneedling with fractional radiofrequency (RF) energy. When paired with surgical procedures, Morpheus8 can significantly optimize results, providing patients with superior skin tightening and rejuvenation.

The Synergy of Surgery and Morpheus8

Morpheus8 | The Secret to Stunning Surgical Results in Buffalo, NY

Traditional cosmetic surgeries, such as facelifts and neck lifts, are highly effective for addressing deep tissue laxity and repositioning the underlying structures of the face and neck that contribute to aging. However, these procedures may not fully address surface-level skin concerns such as fine lines, uneven texture, or residual skin laxity. This is where Morpheus8 plays a vital role. Morpheus8 targets the subdermal layers of the skin, delivering fractional RF energy through a matrix of micro pins. This process induces collagen production and stimulates tissue remodeling without requiring extensive incisions.

The key benefits of incorporating Morpheus8 with traditional surgical approaches include:

  1. Enhanced skin tightening: Morpheus8 effectively complements the lifting effects of surgery by tightening the skin from within, which helps to smooth out the final appearance and can lead to more natural-looking results.
  2. Improved skin texture: By revitalizing the skin’s surface, Morpheus8 helps to improve texture, reduce pore size, and diminish superficial scarring, which surgical procedures alone may not achieve.
  3. Precision and customization: The device allows for adjustable penetration depths, which means treatment can be customized to individual patient needs, targeting specific areas with precision.
  4. Reduced recovery time: When combined with surgery, Morpheus8 can actually contribute to a reduction in overall recovery time. The RF energy helps to stimulate the natural healing processes, enhancing recovery.
  5. Long-lasting results: The effects of Morpheus8 continue to improve over time, with peak results typically seen a few months post-procedure as new collagen forms. This complements the immediate results seen with surgery.

Dr. Shatkin has been a pioneer in the industry, consistently utilizing advanced technology alongside traditional plastic surgery procedures to achieve superior results. He states, “The future of facial rejuvenation lies in the ability to seamlessly integrate technologies like Morpheus8 with surgical expertise to provide what I like to call ‘Combination Rejuvenation.’ This approach not only enhances outcomes but revolutionizes how we think about aging and beauty.”

Case Studies and Clinical Support

Clinical studies and patient outcomes consistently support the efficacy of combining Morpheus8 with cosmetic surgeries. In our practice, we have observed that patients who receive both treatments not only report higher satisfaction with the texture and firmness of their skin but also enjoy a more profound and enduring aesthetic enhancement. It can also be highly effective when combined with Dr. Shatkin’s 1-stitch lipo-contouring of the neck for patients with some skin laxity.

For instance, a recent case involved a 52-year-old female undergoing a facelift in conjunction with Morpheus8. Post-procedure, not only did she notice significant lifting and reduction in sagging, but she also remarked on the improved softness and youthfulness of her skin, attributes directly attributable to the Morpheus8 treatment.

Moving Forward With Advanced Techniques

“By embracing both time-honored techniques and cutting-edge technologies such as Morpheus8, we can offer our patients not just change, but transformation, not just rejuvenation, but revitalization.” – Dr. Samuel Shatkin Jr.

“As a practitioner dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care in cosmetic surgery, I believe in the power of technology to enhance surgical outcomes. Integrating Morpheus8 and other energy-based technologies like Sofwave™ into facial and neck surgeries is more than an innovation; it’s a transformative approach that aligns with our mission to provide holistic and comprehensive aesthetic solutions to our patients,” says Dr. Shatkin. He goes on to add, “By embracing both time-honored techniques and cutting-edge technologies such as Morpheus8, we can offer our patients not just change, but transformation, not just rejuvenation, but revitalization.”

For those considering cosmetic enhancements, combining traditional surgery with advanced technologies like Morpheus8 offers a promising path to achieving the best possible results, ensuring structural and surface-level rejuvenation. As we continue to embrace these advancements, the future of cosmetic surgery looks not only promising but also more accessible and effective for all seeking to enhance their natural beauty.

Ozempic® is the name on everyone’s lips, celebrated for its role in weight loss and health transformations. But for many who’ve reached their goals, the journey doesn’t end when the scale stops moving. Rapid weight loss from treatments like Ozempic can lead to loose or sagging skin on the arms, face, and thighs. While it’s a sign of your progress, it may not always align with how you want to feel in your body. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we understand that while you’re proud of your progress, you may also be looking for ways to refine and tighten your appearance. We offer non-surgical solutions to help your skin better match your new shape—without the need for invasive procedures. Whether it’s skin tightening treatments or collagen-boosting therapies, we’re here to support you in feeling just as confident as you deserve to be.

Understanding Ozempic Arms

Ozempic®, originally developed to manage type 2 diabetes, has become widely known for its weight loss effects. The medication contains semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist that mimics a natural hormone in the body. By slowing digestion and signaling a prolonged feeling of fullness, Ozempic helps reduce calorie intake, leading to significant weight loss over time.

However, rapid weight loss can sometimes lead to unexpected changes in the body. These changes include a condition commonly referred to as “Ozempic arms.” This term describes loose, sagging skin on the upper arms when the body sheds weight faster than the skin can adjust. Skin naturally stretches to accommodate body size. However, the skin may not have enough time to contract when weight is lost quickly. Factors like age-related loss of elasticity and a decrease in muscle mass can further contribute to this effect, making the arms appear less toned. As a result, some individuals notice excess skin hanging from the upper arms, particularly when lifting or extending them.

Target Ozempic Arms at the Aesthetic Associates Centre

Ozempic Arms | Non-Surgical Skin Tightening in Buffalo, NY

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we offer two cutting-edge, non-invasive treatments—Morpheus8 and Sofwave™—which tighten, firm, and rejuvenate the arms without surgery. These advanced technologies stimulate collagen production, enhance skin elasticity, and improve overall arm contour, providing noticeable and lasting results.

Morpheus8: The Ultimate Skin-Tightening Solution for Sagging Arms

Morpheus8 offers an advanced, non-surgical solution for sagging arms, including the effects seen with rapid weight loss. This treatment combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy to stimulate collagen production, tighten loose skin, and improve overall arm contour.

The treatment works by creating tiny micro-injuries in the skin. These micro-injuries activate the body’s natural healing response and encourage new collagen formation. At the same time, RF energy heats the deeper layers of tissue. This process tightens existing collagen fibers while promoting the development of fresh, more elastic skin.

Over time, this process results in firmer, smoother arms with improved definition. Morpheus8 also has the added benefit of reducing fat deposits and cellulite, helping to refine the overall shape of the arms. Because it is minimally invasive, the procedure requires little to no downtime, and improvements continue to develop as collagen regenerates in the weeks and months following treatment.

Firm, Lift, and Rejuvenate With Sofwave™

Sofwave™ uses advanced ultrasound technology to provide a non-surgical solution for tightening loose skin on the arms. Originally designed for facial and neck rejuvenation, this FDA-cleared treatment has also shown effectiveness in addressing sagging skin on the upper arms by stimulating collagen production deep within the skin.

Sofwave delivers Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam (SUPERB) technology to the mid-dermis, where collagen is most abundant. The ultrasound energy heats the tissue at a precise depth of 1.5mm, triggering the body’s natural ability to produce new collagen and elastin. This improves skin texture and firmness over time and provides an immediate tightening effect as existing collagen fibers contract. Because Sofwave is completely non-invasive, there are no incisions, sutures, or downtime. This treatment is ideal for those looking to improve arm definition without surgery.

Some things are just better together—like sunshine and a gentle breeze or chocolate and strawberries. When the right elements align, they don’t just complement each other; they create something far greater than the sum of their parts. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre in Amherst, New York, Dr. Samuel Shatkin Jr. and his dedicated team bring this philosophy to life in the realm of skincare. By pairing the science of advanced skincare products with the transformative power of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments, they provide a dynamic approach to skin rejuvenation. This integration allows patients to enjoy enhanced results, harnessing the strengths of both technology and carefully selected formulations. It’s more than just a treatment; it’s a celebration of innovation and expertise designed to help you look and feel your absolute best.

What Are IPL Treatments?

IPL Treatments in Buffalo, NY | Advanced Skincare Solutions

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology addresses various skin concerns, including redness, broken capillaries, dark spots, and fine lines. It delivers broad-spectrum light that penetrates multiple layers of the skin, targeting specific areas of discoloration or uneven texture. The light energy is absorbed by pigment or blood vessels, converting it into heat that breaks these elements down in a controlled manner. Over time, your body naturally processes and clears these elements away, leaving your skin brighter and more even.

This treatment corrects visible imperfections and stimulates collagen production in the deeper layers of your skin. The increased collagen helps firm and smooth your complexion, reducing fine lines and improving overall texture. By using carefully calibrated wavelengths and timing, IPL ensures precise treatment that focuses on problem areas without harming the surrounding tissue. It’s a safe and effective way to rejuvenate your skin and restore a more youthful appearance with minimal discomfort or downtime.

The Power of Combination Therapy

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we combine the transformative power of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments with Environ’s advanced skincare products, taking your results to the next level. Environ products are crafted with cutting-edge ingredients like retinoids, peptides, antioxidants, and growth factors. These ingredients penetrate deep within the skin to target the root causes of aging and other concerns. These active components support your skin’s natural renewal process, improving texture, reducing pigmentation, and enhancing collagen production.

By integrating Environ’s potent formulations into your post-treatment regimen, we help optimize the results of your IPL sessions. While IPL addresses discoloration and stimulates collagen through controlled energy, Environ products provide the nutrients and support your skin needs to repair and maintain its revitalized state. Together, they create a powerful synergy, accelerating visible improvements and supporting long-term skin health. This combination enhances the immediate effects of your treatment and nurtures your skin’s resilience and radiance over time.

Enhanced Results Through the Synergy of IPL Treatments and Skincare

“By integrating Environ advanced skincare with IPL, we can provide a comprehensive approach that not only treats visible skin imperfections but also enhances the overall health of the skin,” says Dr. Samuel Shatkin Jr.  The topical agents prepare the skin by improving its texture and tone. As a result, this allows the IPL treatment to work more effectively. In addition, we can soothe and heal post-IPL inflammation more rapidly with the help of the Environ high-grade skincare products. Incorporating these treatments leads to quicker recovery and better results.

Clients who opt for this combination therapy report improvements in specific issues like sun damage or fine lines and an overall rejuvenation that makes their skin look and feel significantly younger and healthier.

The idea of ‘perfect lips’ is as subjective as it is compelling. For some, it’s the symmetry that draws the eye; for others, it’s the fullness or the curve of a cupid’s bow that seems to whisper elegance. Perfect lips can be bold and commanding, turning heads with their striking shape. They can be soft and subtle, leaving an impression through quiet allure. Whatever the vision, it’s never a single, universal image—it’s a reflection of personal ideals. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we celebrate the beauty of individuality and are here to help you achieve the look you’ve always envisioned. Our non-surgical solutions can enhance your natural features, creating a balanced, radiant appearance that aligns with your personal style. Because when it comes to feeling confident, it’s not about chasing trends—it’s about embracing what makes you uniquely you.

What Are the Traits of Perfect Lips?

Perfect Lips | Enhance Your Natural Beauty in Buffalo, NY

When you think of “perfect lips,” who comes to mind? Perhaps it’s a particular celebrity, a timeless icon, or even someone you know personally. While the answer will likely differ for everyone, it’s clear that the concept of perfection is subjective and deeply personal. What one person considers ideal, another might see differently. This individuality is what makes beauty so captivating.

Several factors often influence how we define attractive lips, though these preferences vary widely. For some, it might be about proportions—the balance between the upper and lower lip, often referenced by the golden ratio. Others might focus on fullness, appreciating the soft, plump look that exudes vitality and youthfulness. With its delicate curve, the cupid’s bow may capture the imagination of those who appreciate subtle elegance. At the same time, symmetry—where each side of the lips mirrors the other—offers a sense of harmony that’s pleasing to the eye. Even the height of the vermilion, or the red part of the lips, plays a role, with greater prominence often associated with a feminine allure.

These considerations, among others, can all come together to create what feels like the ideal lip for you. The key lies in finding the right approach to highlight your natural beauty and bring your unique vision to life.

The Secret to Full, Symmetrical Lips? Dermal Fillers

Crafting the perfect lips starts with understanding your unique goals, whether you want to add volume, enhance shape, correct asymmetry, or smooth fine lines. Dermal fillers, particularly those made from hyaluronic acid (HA), provide a versatile way to achieve these transformations. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we use HA fillers like Juvéderm® and Restylane® because they offer safe, effective, and natural-looking results.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance that maintains skin hydration and volume. When injected into the lips, HA immediately adds fullness while seamlessly blending with the surrounding tissues. HA also attracts and binds water molecules, amplifying the plumping effect and leaving lips looking hydrated and youthful. Whether the goal is to restore lost volume, define features like Cupid’s bow, or refine the lip border for a more polished look, fillers can create noticeable yet natural enhancements.

Fillers can also address asymmetry by balancing proportions between the upper and lower lips or between the left and right sides, creating harmony in your overall appearance. Additionally, they smooth vertical lip lines and support the surrounding structures, subtly lifting the corners of the mouth and enhancing the area around the lips.

The Botox® Lip Flip: Subtle Elegance for Perfect Lips

For some of us, the perfect lips aren’t about dramatic changes or noticeable volume but rather a subtle enhancement. The Botox® lip flip offers precisely that. This treatment provides a gentle transformation that enhances the appearance of the upper lip without adding volume. But what exactly is a lip flip, and how does it work?

The Botox lip flip uses targeted injections to achieve its effect. We carefully inject small amounts of Botox around the upper lip, typically near the corners of the mouth and the Cupid’s bow. Botox works by temporarily interrupting nerve signals to the targeted muscles, causing them to relax.

As the muscle relaxes, the upper lip subtly “flips” outward. This upward curl creates a more defined, pouty appearance. As a result, the lips look fuller and more prominent without adding any actual volume. The result is a natural-looking enhancement that offers the illusion of increased fullness while maintaining the lip’s original size. This approach is ideal for those seeking a soft, understated transformation. However, it can also complement dermal fillers, adding definition and refinement to the upper lip.

Daxxify®, another FDA-approved neuromodulator, offers its own unique set of benefits and is becoming a popular choice for those exploring their options. Botox vs. Daxxify isn’t just a simple comparison—it’s about finding what works best for you. Both treatments target specific facial muscles to relax tension and soften wrinkles, but their subtle differences cater to individual needs. Whether you’re curious about longevity or just looking for a fresh perspective, our skilled team at the Aesthetic Associates Centre will create a personalized plan that fits your unique beauty journey. Because when it comes to looking your best, having options is always a good thing.

Wrinkles 101: What You Need To Know

Botox vs. Daxxify in Buffalo, NY | Expert Care for Smoother Skin

Wrinkles are not merely a hallmark of aging. They result from a dynamic interplay between natural processes and external stressors, each leaving its unique signature on the skin.

Imagine your skin as a high-performance fabric. The dermis—the middle layer—houses a scaffold of collagen and elastin fibers, which act like the fabric’s threads, providing strength and elasticity. Over time, however, these fibers face wear and tear. Collagen, the protein responsible for skin’s plumpness, starts to degrade, while elastin, which gives skin its snap-back quality, unravels. As a result, the surface begins to sag and form grooves.

In addition, the dermis thins with age, weakening the skin’s ability to hold its shape. To make matters more challenging, skin cells slow their division, which means fewer replacements for worn-out cells. Combine this with reduced moisture retention—aging skin loses its natural oils and hydration—and you have a perfect storm for wrinkle formation.

Intrinsic Causes and External Factors

While it might feel like wrinkles appear overnight, their roots often run deep. Genetics play a starring role; your skin’s texture, thickness, and propensity for wrinkles can be largely inherited. Then there’s the simple fact of living—years of smiling, frowning, and squinting create repetitive motion lines that eventually settle into permanent creases.

The environment plays no small part in the wrinkle story. With its ultraviolet (UV) rays, the sun is one of the leading culprits. UV exposure damages elastin fibers and tricks the skin into producing faulty replacements, resulting in uneven texture and fine lines—what scientists call “solar elastosis.” Finally, pollutants from the air infiltrate pores, triggering inflammation and breaking down collagen faster than your body can replace it.

Botox vs. Daxxify: How Are They Similar?

Botox® and Daxxify® are members of the neuromodulator family. Their active ingredient is botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A), a naturally derived compound that temporarily blocks the communication between nerves and muscles. This interruption prevents muscles from contracting, effectively reducing the tension that causes wrinkles to form.

We begin by injecting the treatment directly into targeted facial muscles. Once there, the botulinum toxin blocks the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that triggers muscle contractions. Without this signal, the muscles relax, making the overlying skin appear smoother and more youthful. By reducing this repetitive muscle activity, these treatments not only diminish existing wrinkles but also help prevent new ones from developing.

Botox vs. Daxxify: How Are They Different?

Botox® and Daxxify® may seem similar at first glance, but their differences lie in how they’re designed to work. Botox is a versatile option approved to smooth wrinkles across multiple areas of the face. Whether you’re concerned about horizontal forehead lines, crow’s feet at the corners of your eyes, or vertical frown lines between your eyebrows, Botox offers a comprehensive solution for a refreshed and youthful appearance.

Daxxify, on the other hand, takes a more targeted approach. Its primary focus is on frown lines—those vertical creases between your eyebrows, just above the nose. Known as glabellar lines, these wrinkles can sometimes make you look more serious or tired than you feel. Daxxify zeroes in on this specific area, providing a precise solution for smoothing out those distinctive lines.

The choice between Botox and Daxxify often depends on your goals. Botox’s versatility makes it a strong contender for many concerns. If glabellar lines are your main focus, Daxxify’s specialized design could be the perfect fit.

Aging has a way of surprising us. One day, we look in the mirror and catch a glimpse of something unexpected. A new wrinkle here, a bit of loose skin there. These changes may be subtle, but they can feel significant, especially when they don’t quite align with how we feel inside. It’s not about vanity or dissatisfaction. Rather, it’s about reconciling the vibrant, youthful energy we carry in our hearts with the image reflected back at us. Wrinkles and loose skin can sometimes feel like they’re telling a story we didn’t sign up to share. While they may represent years of laughter, love, and life lived fully, they can also leave us feeling a little less like ourselves. This isn’t about erasing those years or denying their importance; it’s about finding harmony between how we look and how we feel.

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, there are options to help you feel more like yourself again. With the right care, it’s possible to align your look with how you feel—giving you even more reasons to love the face that greets you in the mirror.

Why Do I Have Loose Skin?

Loose Skin in Buffalo, NY | Your Solutions for Firmer, Youthful Skin

Our skin changes over time due to a combination of natural processes and external influences, all of which affect its elasticity and firmness. These changes often unfold gradually, leaving us wondering why the face or body we’ve grown accustomed to no longer looks quite the same.

First and foremost, the aging process plays a central role in skin laxity. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen and elastin. These two key proteins provide structure and elasticity to the skin. Collagen acts like scaffolding, giving the skin firmness, while elastin ensures it can stretch and return to its original shape. With diminished levels of these proteins, the skin becomes thinner, less resilient, and more prone to sagging.

Sun exposure also significantly accelerates these changes. Ultraviolet (UV) rays penetrate the skin, breaking down collagen and elastin fibers. Over time, prolonged exposure weakens the skin’s support network, making it more likely to loosen prematurely. This damage doesn’t just occur during beach vacations; even daily exposure adds up, creating long-term effects on skin texture and tone.

Do I need Surgery To Treat Loose Skin?

The right solution for addressing loose skin depends on the degree of laxity and your individual goals. Both surgical and non-surgical options offer pathways to firmer, more youthful-looking skin. However, they serve different purposes and meet different needs.

Non-surgical treatments are excellent for mild to moderate skin looseness. These treatments stimulate collagen production and tighten the collagen fibers in the skin. Over time, this can improve firmness and elasticity, offering a refreshed appearance without the need for invasive procedures. However, it’s important to note that these methods can’t completely eliminate loose skin, particularly in cases of more pronounced laxity.

Surgery may provide the most comprehensive results in cases of more severe skin sagging, such as pronounced jowls or drooping in the midface. These procedures remove and tighten excess skin, delivering noticeable changes that non-surgical treatments cannot achieve.

What Sort of Non-Surgical Treatments Can Help, and How?

We offer a variety of non-surgical treatments to help tighten and rejuvenate loose skin, providing effective solutions tailored to your needs. These treatments stimulate collagen production and improve skin elasticity, helping you achieve a firmer, youthful appearance without surgery.

Ultrasound therapy, such as Sofwave™, uses focused sound waves to target deeper layers of the skin. As a result, they encourage the production of new collagen. This process gradually lifts and tightens the skin, making it a popular choice for areas like the face, neck, and décolletage.

Laser resurfacing takes a slightly different approach. It improves skin texture and elasticity by removing damaged skin layers and stimulating cell renewal. This treatment can also address fine lines and uneven skin tone, offering a smoother, more refreshed look.

For a combined approach, microneedling with radiofrequency, such as Morpheus8, delivers controlled energy directly into the skin’s layers. By creating micro-injuries and boosting collagen deeper, this treatment enhances firmness, texture, and tone in one comprehensive procedure.

Mini Tummy Tuck: A Streamlined Approach to Abdominal Rejuvenation

When it comes to achieving a flatter, more toned abdomen, many patients consider a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty). However, not all cases require the extensive correction of a full tummy tuck. For individuals with minor abdominal sagging or excess skin localized below the belly button, a mini tummy tuck may be the ideal solution. This blog will explore the differences between a mini and full tummy tuck, outline the procedure and recovery for a mini tummy tuck, and explain why it’s a popular choice for many patients.

What Is a Mini Tummy Tuck?

A mini tummy tuck is a less invasive version of the traditional tummy tuck. It focuses specifically on the lower abdomen, addressing mild to moderate skin laxity and small pockets of fat below the navel. Unlike a full tummy tuck, a mini tummy tuck does not involve repositioning the belly button or addressing the upper abdomen.

Mini Tummy Tuck vs. Full Tummy Tuck

Here are the key differences:

  1. Scope of Correction:
    • Mini Tummy Tuck: Targets the lower abdomen only.
    • Full Tummy Tuck: Addresses both the lower and upper abdomen, including muscle tightening and repositioning the navel.
  2. Incision Size:
    • Mini Tummy Tuck: Requires a shorter incision, typically hidden below the bikini line.
    • Full Tummy Tuck: Involves a longer incision extending from hip to hip and an additional incision around the navel.
  3. Recovery:
    • Mini Tummy Tuck: Quicker recovery, typically 1-2 weeks.
    • Full Tummy Tuck: Longer recovery, often 4-6 weeks.
  4. Cost:
    • Mini Tummy Tuck: Generally more affordable due to the less extensive procedure, and typically performed in office based surgery center.
    • Full Tummy Tuck: Higher cost due to the increased complexity and time required.

The Mini Tummy Tuck Procedure

A mini tummy tuck is often combined with liposuction to contour the lower abdomen further. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Consultation:
    • During your consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your abdominal area and discuss your goals to determine if a mini tummy tuck is right for you.
  2. Surgery:
    • The procedure is performed under IV sedationanesthesia and typically takes 1-2 hours.
    • Your surgeon will make a small horizontal incision just above the pubic area, remove excess skin, and may use liposuction to eliminate stubborn fat deposits.
  3. Closing the Incision:
    • The incision is closed with sutures, and a compression garment is applied to support the area during healing.

Recovery After a Mini Tummy Tuck

  • Downtime: Most patients return to work and light activities within 1-2 weeks.
  • Discomfort: You may experience mild swelling and discomfort, which can be managed with prescribed medication.
  • Compression Garment: Wearing a compression garment helps reduce swelling and supports the healing process.
  • Exercise: Avoid strenuous activities for about 4-6 weeks, but light walking is encouraged to promote circulation.

Why Choose a Mini Tummy Tuck?

  • Less Invasive: Ideal for patients with minimal sagging and localized fat.
  • Quicker Recovery: Allows you to resume your routine sooner compared to a full tummy tuck.
  • Cost-Effective: More affordable due to the shorter procedure time and less complexity.
  • Liposuction Included: Enhances contouring for a smoother, flatter appearance.

Is a Mini Tummy Tuck Right for You?

If you are close to your ideal weight, have good skin elasticity, and want to improve the appearance of your lower abdomen, a mini tummy tuck could be an excellent option. It’s important to have realistic expectations and discuss your aesthetic goals with your surgeon.

Final Thoughts

A mini tummy tuck offers a less invasive and more affordable way to achieve a flatter lower abdomen. With the added benefit of liposuction, patients can enjoy enhanced contouring and a shorter recovery period compared to a full tummy tuck. If you’re considering abdominal rejuvenation, schedule a consultation to explore whether a mini tummy tuck is the best option for your needs.

Few features are as iconic in history as the lips of Clara Bow and Marilyn Monroe—each pair capturing the spirit and artistry of their time. Clara Bow, the 1920s’ original “It Girl,” turned heads with her signature heart-shaped lips. The dramatic contrast of deep, dark lipstick against her pale complexion, with a perfectly sculpted Cupid’s bow, was a bold declaration of modernity. Decades later, Marilyn Monroe elevated the art of the lip to dizzying heights. Her iconic pout wasn’t just a product of chance but a masterpiece of technique. Layers of carefully blended shades gave her lips depth and fullness. These influential women used the tools of their time—lipsticks, liners, and brushes—to create something larger than life. Today, the beauty world has evolved, and modern enhancements like lip flips or fillers offer the chance to recreate these timeless looks without a single makeup brush.

These advancements don’t just mimic the glamour of the past—they democratize it, ensuring that timeless elegance is no longer reserved for the silver screen. Today, beauty isn’t about fitting a mold; it’s about owning your narrative, one iconic smile at a time.

Symmetry, Lips, and the Art of Facial Harmony

Lip Flips in Buffalo, NY | Redefine Your Lips, Redefine Your Beauty

Humans naturally notice symmetry—it’s hardwired into us. Symmetrical features are often linked to health, genetic fitness, and trustworthiness. This doesn’t mean asymmetry is unattractive, but it helps explain why balanced features often catch our eye as especially pleasing. The timeless “Golden Ratio” illustrates this: certain proportions are universally perceived as harmonious and beautiful.

Lips, as a central and expressive part of the face, play a significant role in communication and aesthetics. Their size and shape enhance overall attractiveness when balanced with other facial features. Well-proportioned lips draw attention to the face’s natural beauty, emphasizing key features and celebrating individuality.

Lip Flips Explained: A Simple Path to Stunning Results

A lip flip is a quick and non-surgical way to enhance the upper lip’s appearance without adding volume. By targeting the muscles around the upper lip, this treatment creates a subtle yet noticeable transformation that many find appealing.

Here’s how it works: We begin by injecting a small amount of botulinum toxin—commonly known as Botox®—into specific points around the upper lip. These injections focus on the orbicularis oris muscle, the circular muscle that controls lip movements. Once applied, the Botox temporarily relaxes the targeted muscle, gently softening its tension. The upper lip naturally flips outward and slightly upward as the muscle relaxes. This shift gives the upper lip a fuller and more defined appearance without altering its size. The result is a refined, natural-looking enhancement.

Lip Filler vs. Lip Flips: Which One Is Right for You?

While a lip flip enhances the upper lip’s appearance through muscle relaxation, lip fillers work at the molecular level to create volume and structure. The science behind fillers is hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance known for its ability to retain moisture.

When we inject fillers into the lips, the hyaluronic acid attracts and holds water molecules, instantly plumping the area. This hydrating effect creates the fuller look many people desire. But the benefits go beyond adding volume. The gel provides structural support to the lip tissue, helping to enhance the shape and define the contours of your lips.

Fillers feel natural because hyaluronic acid blends seamlessly with your body’s collagen and elastin. This integration keeps the filler in place, ensuring stunning results that feel more natural. Together, these effects make fillers an excellent choice for achieving noticeable volume and a beautifully sculpted look.

If you love the idea of the lip flip’s gentle refinement but want a bolder transformation, fillers might be the solution for you. Alternatively, if you’re drawn to the understated elegance of a lip flip but aren’t looking for a noticeable size increase, the flip may better suit your goals. The key lies in understanding your desired outcome to determine which treatment aligns with your vision.

Lasers might sound like something straight out of a sci-fi movie—flashy, futuristic, maybe even a little too good to be true. But ablative laser resurfacing is no special effect. It’s cutting-edge technology making real-life transformations, and at the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we’re using it to help patients achieve skin they never thought possible. The idea of a laser zapping away wrinkles, scars, and sun damage might seem like pure fantasy. But this isn’t fiction—it’s science at its finest. Ablative laser resurfacing carefully removes damaged skin layer by layer, clearing the way for a smoother, more radiant complexion. It’s not a trick, not a gimmick—just the remarkable power of light and innovation giving your skin a fresh start.

This is your chance to leave behind the doubts and dive into what’s real: smoother, healthier skin backed by results you can see and feel. Because when science meets artistry, the results are nothing short of extraordinary.

How Does Ablative Laser Resurfacing Work?

Ablative Laser Resurfacing in Buffalo, NY | Restore Radiant Skin!

Ablative laser resurfacing works by harnessing the power of light energy to transform your skin from the inside out. It starts with a laser delivering a concentrated beam of light to the surface of your skin. Here, it carefully removes the damaged outer layers (the epidermis). As this precise energy penetrates deeper into the skin, it heats the underlying layer, the dermis. This heat triggers a remarkable chain reaction. The body’s natural healing process kicks in, producing fresh collagen and elastin fibers. These are the essential building blocks of firm, smooth skin.

The treatment creates a dual effect by vaporizing damaged cells and stimulating new collagen growth simultaneously. First, the outermost layer of skin is replaced with fresh, healthy cells, making your complexion appear smoother and more even. Second, the deeper layers of skin start producing new collagen over the coming weeks and months. This process leads to continued improvements in elasticity and texture long after the procedure is complete.

What Can Ablative Laser Resurfacing Correct?

Ablative laser resurfacing is a powerful tool for tackling a variety of skin concerns. It offers a comprehensive approach to skin rejuvenation, and the treatment’s precision allows it to address multiple issues simultaneously.

Smoothing Texture and Refining Appearance

Ablative laser resurfacing is highly effective at smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, especially those stubborn creases around the eyes and mouth. Removing the outer layers of damaged skin reveals a more even texture and can minimize enlarged pores and rough patches. If your skin feels dull or uneven, this treatment can breathe life back into your complexion, leaving it noticeably smoother and fresher.

Reversing Sun Damage and Aging

Years of sun exposure can leave behind sunspots, age spots, and uneven pigmentation—a telltale sign of photoaging. Ablative lasers remove these imperfections, brightening and evening out the skin tone.

Minimizing Scars, Blemishes, and Pigmentation

Whether it’s acne scars, chickenpox marks, or surgical scars, ablative laser resurfacing can soften and diminish their appearance. By promoting new collagen growth, the treatment smooths out the depressions or irregularities left behind by scarring, restoring a more uniform skin surface.

Hyperpigmentation, melasma, and freckles can all benefit from laser resurfacing’s precision. By targeting and removing the pigment in affected areas, the treatment leaves the skin tone more balanced and radiant.

Non-Ablative vs. Ablative: What’s the Difference?

Ablative and non-ablative lasers achieve skin rejuvenation in distinct ways, each with unique benefits. Ablative lasers are designed to remove the outermost layer of skin, the epidermis while penetrating into the deeper dermis. This controlled process stimulates collagen production and promotes significant healing, making ablative lasers ideal for addressing deep wrinkles, scars, and uneven texture. The results are dramatic and often visible after a single treatment, but the intensity means a longer recovery time.

Non-ablative lasers, on the other hand, work beneath the skin’s surface. By using treatments like PicoSure, we heat the dermis without damaging the outer layer, gradually encouraging collagen production. This approach provides subtle, progressive improvements over multiple treatments, making it a great option for refining skin tone, texture, or mild discoloration. The benefit of this gentler method is minimal downtime—patients can usually return to daily activities right away.

Turn Back the Clock With Ablative Laser Resurfacing

The future of your skin is here, and it’s glowing with possibility. Ablative laser resurfacing at the Aesthetic Associates Centre is more than a treatment—it’s a breakthrough, a chance to reveal a version of you that feels refreshed, radiant, and ready to face the world. When we think of beauty in harmony, nature often comes to mind—a vibrant garden where every bloom stands out yet blends seamlessly with the whole or the rhythmic dance of ocean waves under the sky. In both art and life, harmony is that perfect balance where individual elements come together effortlessly to create a complete, pleasing picture. Facial harmony works the same way. It’s not about striving for a so-called “perfect” look. Instead, it’s about celebrating the natural relationship among your unique features—ensuring they complement each other beautifully and enhance your overall appearance.

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, achieving this sense of facial harmony is not only possible—it’s accessible through advanced, non-surgical options designed to enhance your look effortlessly. Here, facial harmony becomes your reality, with subtle, effective treatments tailored to bring out the best in your natural beauty.

The Art of Facial Harmony: Understanding Proportion and Balance

Facial Harmony in Buffalo, NY | Enhance Your Natural Beauty

Proportion and balance are the foundation of facial harmony, shaping how we instinctively perceive beauty in a face. Think of the face as a composition, like a well-designed architectural structure. Each element plays a specific role in creating balance.

First, we have vertical proportions, which organize the face into three equal zones: from the top of your forehead to your eyebrows, then from eyebrows to the base of your nose, and finally from the base of your nose to the tip of your chin. If each zone is close to equal height, it creates a sense of natural balance. When these thirds are even, the eye glides smoothly over the face, creating a pleasing sense of flow.

Horizontal proportions introduce another layer of harmony. Imagine the face as a canvas divided into five vertical sections of equal width. Each section represents a “fifth” of the face. Ideally, the eyes sit one section apart, resting comfortably in their own zones, with the nose fitting snugly in the central section. This spacing creates a balanced look.

When features align with these proportional guidelines, they complement each other, neither dominating nor fading, creating a cohesive, balanced look.

How Dermal Fillers Add Volume and Balance

Dermal fillers act as sculpting tools, adding volume and structure to areas lacking definition or fullness. Hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvéderm® and Restylane® are commonly used for their volumizing and hydrating qualities. These fillers allow us to enhance contours and achieve a youthful, balanced appearance. For example, cheek augmentation with fillers restores the natural fullness that diminishes with age. They add structure to the cheekbones, creating a lifted, defined contour in the mid-face.

When applied to areas like nasolabial folds and marionette lines, fillers soften deeper lines, providing a more balanced and refreshed appearance. Fillers also work wonders in lip enhancement. We can add fullness and shape to thin or undefined lips, complementing the surrounding facial features. Additionally, chin and jawline contouring with fillers can refine the profile and improve facial proportions, creating a more cohesive and symmetrical look.

Smoothing Wrinkles and Enhancing Symmetry: The Precision of Botox®

On the other hand, Botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox®) is an essential tool for treating dynamic wrinkles and asymmetries caused by muscle activity. This treatment temporarily relaxes targeted muscles, smoothing lines and balancing expressions.

When certain muscles are more active on one side of the face, they can create uneven expressions. By selectively relaxing these muscles, we can correct asymmetries, such as lifting a drooping eyebrow, adjusting the eyelid aperture, or balancing an uneven smile. Botox is particularly effective around the brow and eye areas for achieving a symmetrical and harmonious appearance.

Botox is also highly effective for smoothing dynamic wrinkles, like crow’s feet and forehead lines, by relaxing the muscles responsible for these expressions. This approach gives the skin a smoother, more youthful look. Overactive muscles in the jawline and lower face can create a broader appearance. Botox helps to relax these muscles, softening the jawline and bringing greater balance to the lower face.

We’ve all seen the skincare commercials—creams, serums, and elixirs that promise to bring back a fresh, youthful glow. And yes, these products can make a difference, adding radiance and softness. But sometimes, true skin rejuvenation goes beyond what a jar can offer. Many of us are searching for something more lasting, something that reaches deeper. For those moments when a surface fix just isn’t enough, there’s a place for care that’s more transformative. Real rejuvenation means working with solutions that address not just the look but the essence of what makes you feel renewed—backed by expertise and designed specifically for you. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we take rejuvenation seriously, offering options backed by science and truly work. From treatments that smooth and lift to those that restore your skin’s natural vitality, we provide a level of care that goes even further.

What Does Skin Rejuvenation Target?

Skin Rejuvenation in Buffalo, NY | Restore Your Radiance Today!

The science behind skin rejuvenation focuses on two fundamental processes: cellular turnover and collagen stimulation. Together, these processes renew and strengthen the skin, resulting in a smoother, firmer, and more youthful appearance.

Cellular turnover is the skin’s natural process of renewal. This process happens steadily in youthful skin, with fresh cells continuously replacing older ones on the surface. But as we age, turnover slows, causing dead cells to linger. This buildup leads to dullness, a rougher texture, and an uneven tone, making fine lines more noticeable.

Collagen stimulation is equally vital. Collagen provides the skin with firmness and elasticity, forming a supportive network in the deeper layers. Over time, collagen production decreases, which is why we see more sagging and wrinkling as skin loses its natural “bounce.” Supporting collagen is essential for restoring the skin’s strength and resilience.

So, when discussing skin rejuvenation, we focus on these two priorities: helping the skin renew itself efficiently and maintaining its structural support. Together, these elements are the foundation of true, lasting rejuvenation.

Which Skin Rejuvenation Treatment Is Right for You?

Our skin rejuvenation treatments are crafted to support both cellular turnover and collagen production—though each one shines in its own way. Exploring what each option can do gives you the power to choose the perfect approach for your skin’s unique needs and goals.

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we offer a range of treatments designed to rejuvenate and refresh your skin. These treatments target cellular turnover and overall skin health for visible results.

Chemical peels are one of our highly effective options. Using a blend of specialized acids, chemical peels remove dead skin cells from the surface, revealing a smoother and brighter layer underneath. This treatment improves skin texture and tone, softens fine lines, and helps even out pigmentation, giving your skin a renewed, vibrant look.

Exfoliation treatments are another way we enhance cellular turnover. These can include physical exfoliants, which gently polish away surface cells, and chemical exfoliants, which dissolve dead skin cells. The result? A noticeably softer and more radiant complexion, as fresh skin is unveiled, provides an instant glow and smoother finish.

Collagen Production

If collagen production needs targeted support, we offer advanced treatments designed to boost your skin’s natural collagen levels.

Microneedling is one of our most effective collagen-stimulating options. This treatment uses small needles to create tiny, controlled micro-injuries in the skin that prompt natural healing responses. As the skin repairs, it generates new collagen, gradually strengthening the skin’s structure. For even greater results, microneedling can be combined with radiofrequency energy, allowing the treatment to reach deeper layers and further amplify collagen remodeling, leading to a firmer, smoother texture.

Laser treatments are another powerful choice for collagen stimulation. By delivering focused light energy into the skin, lasers create controlled micro-injuries that signal the body to replenish collagen. This treatment improves fine lines and wrinkles and enhances skin tone and texture, making it ideal for tackling signs of aging, sun damage, or acne scars. Over time, the increase in collagen provides a naturally revitalized appearance.

Ultrasound Therapy like Sofwave™ offers a highly targeted approach to collagen production. This treatment uses sound waves to penetrate precise depths in the skin, creating thermal points that activate collagen production in the deeper layers. Unlike other treatments, Sofwave’s ultrasound energy focuses directly on areas where collagen support is most needed, promoting long-term firmness and resilience without affecting the skin’s surface.

Ozempic® has become a popular choice for those on a journey to better health, offering incredible results in weight management. But with this transformation, some notice an unexpected side effect known as “Ozempic face.” As the body becomes leaner, the natural fullness in the face can diminish, creating a more hollow or tired appearance that might not reflect how vibrant you feel inside.

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we believe your reflection should celebrate your accomplishments. Our non-surgical treatments can restore lost volume and enhance your natural contours. If “Ozempic face” has left you feeling less like yourself, our skilled team is here to help you look as refreshed and confident as you feel—no surgery, just results that bring out your best.

Why Do I Have Ozempic Face?

Ozempic Face | Non-Surgical Skin Treatments in Buffalo, NY

Ozempic® (semaglutide) activates a GLP-1 receptor in the body, signaling to the brain that you’re full. It also slows the digestion process, helping you feel satisfied for longer. While this is great for achieving weight loss goals, it can sometimes cause noticeable changes in the face.

As the body loses fat, the face naturally follows suit. The fat pads beneath the skin, which once provided structure and youthful volume, begin to diminish. These changes can cause hollowing around the eyes, cheeks, and temples, leading to what is now referred to as “Ozempic face.” Without the same underlying support, the skin may also lose its elasticity. These changes contribute to more pronounced lines, wrinkles, and sagging around the jawline.

Though “Ozempic face” has gained attention because of the medication’s effectiveness, these facial changes can happen with any rapid fat reduction. Fortunately, we offer treatments to help restore facial volume and refresh your appearance, allowing you to enjoy your results confidently.

How Dermal Fillers Combat Ozempic Face

Rapid weight loss often reduces the natural fat that supports areas like the cheeks and temples. Dermal fillers help fix this by restoring the lost volume in those areas. By adding this volume back, fillers lift and smooth the skin, giving the face a fuller and more youthful look.

Fillers like Juvéderm® and Restylane® contain hyaluronic acid, which restores volume and promotes collagen production. Collagen is a natural protein in the body that helps keep skin firm and elastic. When we inject these fillers, they stretch special cells called fibroblasts, which kick-start the production of new collagen. Over time, this extra collagen helps improve skin firmness and elasticity.

Another key benefit of hyaluronic acid is that it draws moisture into the skin, making it more hydrated. Increased hydration makes the skin appear healthier, more vibrant, and more elastic, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The skin becomes firmer and smoother from within.

Lift and Smooth Sagging Arms: Non-Surgical Fixes for Loose Skin

Rapid weight loss affects more than just the face. It can cause loose, sagging skin on the upper arms, also known as “Ozempic arms.” When fat disappears, the skin often struggles to bounce back, leaving arms less toned and defined.

To address this issue, the PicoSure Focus Array laser is a highly effective way to firm and tighten sagging skin. The treatment creates microscopic thermal zones on the skin’s surface, stimulating the body’s natural healing response. As a result, the skin starts producing fresh collagen.

Over a few weeks, your skin will become tighter and smoother as the new collagen strengthens and supports the area. PicoSure not only reduces sagging but also improves the overall texture of your skin, leaving your arms looking more sculpted and youthful.

If you prefer a non-invasive approach, Sofwave™ is an excellent alternative. This innovative treatment uses ultrasound energy to target the deeper layers of your skin, stimulating collagen production without surgery. The process is gentle yet powerful, encouraging your skin to tighten and firm gradually.

Unlike laser treatments, Sofwave doesn’t require incisions or downtime, so you can immediately return to your daily routine. You’ll see visible improvements in the tone and texture of your arms, with results that continue to develop in the weeks following treatment. It’s a simple, non-surgical solution that helps restore a more toned, youthful appearance to your upper arms.

Embrace the Fullness of Your Transformation

You’ve worked hard to achieve your weight loss goals and deserve to feel confident in every aspect of your appearance. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we specialize in non-surgical treatments designed to restore your facial volume and tighten loose skin on your arms, helping you look as vibrant as you feel.

Ready to take the next step? Our team is here to guide you toward a refreshed, youthful appearance—without surgery or downtime. Schedule a consultation today, and let us help you refine and enhance the results of your transformation.

Lasers may sound futuristic, but the future of skincare is already here, and it’s called the photofacial. Imagine a treatment that uses light energy to gently erase sun damage, reduce redness, and soften fine lines—without harsh chemicals or surgery. Gone are the days of your mother’s skincare routines; photofacials redefine what’s possible. This advanced yet simple treatment uses powerful light pulses to boost your skin’s natural ability to heal and renew itself.

A photofacial is like hitting the refresh button for your skin. Targeting discoloration and uneven texture at the source, it promotes the production of new, healthy cells, giving your complexion a radiant, youthful glow. What’s most exciting? It’s minimally invasive and requires little to no downtime, meaning you can get back to your life feeling refreshed and confident. The future of skincare is not just on the horizon—it’s here, and the photofacial is leading the way.

What Is a Photofacial?

Photofacial in Buffalo, NY | MedSpa | Discover Radiant Skin Today!

A photofacial, or photorejuvenation, is like giving your skin a little light-powered tune-up! Using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology, the Cynosure Icon IPL photofacial laser® sends controlled bursts of light into the skin. However, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is different from a laser. It uses broad-spectrum light, which means it releases multiple wavelengths of light in pulses. This allows IPL to treat larger, more superficial areas of skin, like pigmentation and redness. In contrast, a laser emits a single, focused wavelength of light. This light penetrates deeper into the skin with greater precision.

The heat from the IPL wakes up fibroblasts—your skin’s collagen factories. These cells start churning out more collagen and elastin, giving your skin more bounce, smoothing fine lines, and restoring a firmer, refreshed look. As your body naturally replaces old skin cells with fresh ones, your complexion gets that youthful, radiant glow we all dream of.

What Can the Cynosure IPL Photofacial Treat?

The Cynosure IPL Photofacial is a versatile treatment designed to rejuvenate your skin from head to toe. It’s particularly effective at addressing multiple concerns at once, like sun damage, pigmentation, and redness. Whether you’re looking to reduce the appearance of sunspots on your cheeks and forehead, calm rosacea on your nose and cheeks, or smooth fine lines around your eyes, IPL delivers a gentle yet powerful solution.

Beyond the face, IPL works wonders on other areas frequently exposed to the sun, like the neck and chest. On the neck, it tackles discoloration and sunspots while improving texture. It targets visible blood vessels, freckles, and sagging skin on the chest, restoring a firmer and more even-toned appearance. IPL is also effective on the arms and hands, reducing pigmentation, age spots, and visible veins. It’s a multi-tasking solution that gives your skin a refreshed, youthful glow with minimal downtime.

Cynosure ICON 1540 Fractional Laser

For those needing deeper skin rejuvenation, the Cynosure ICON 1540 Fractional Laser addresses more specific concerns. This treatment is particularly effective for improving skin texture and reducing the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and fine lines. Unlike IPL, the 1540 fractional laser goes deeper into the skin. This treatment option stimulates collagen production to smooth out uneven texture and tighten the skin.

If you’re dealing with more pronounced skin damage—whether from deep-set wrinkles, scars, or even stretch marks—the Fractional Laser is a targeted solution designed to deliver dramatic improvements over time. It’s a great option for those seeking more intensive results with more downtime, as the skin needs time to heal and regenerate after each session. This treatment offers long-term rejuvenation, leaving your skin smoother and more even in texture.

Beyond IPL: Discover the Right Laser Treatment for You

No two people are alike, and neither are their skin concerns. If the Cynosure IPL Photofacial isn’t the ideal fit for your needs, we offer a variety of other laser treatments that may be exactly what you’re looking for.

PicoSure Skin Rejuvenation offers a versatile approach for more targeted skin concerns. Unlike traditional lasers that rely primarily on heat to treat the skin, PicoSure utilizes advanced technology to create a photomechanical effect. This process delivers energy in rapid pulses, generating a pressure wave that breaks apart pigment particles beneath the skin. In addition to targeting pigmentation, the pressure wave stimulates cellular responses, encouraging the body to produce new collagen and elastin, which helps to improve the overall texture and tone of the skin.

On the other hand, if you’re facing more severe skin concerns like deep wrinkles or significant sun damage, Ablative laser skin resurfacing provides a more aggressive solution, targeting deeper layers of the skin for dramatic results. However, this approach involves a longer recovery time. Fractional lasers, like the Cynosure ICON 1540, offer a middle ground between ablative and non-ablative treatments. They deliver significant improvements in skin texture and scarring with less downtime and a lower risk of side effects, making them an ideal option for patients seeking noticeable results without the extensive healing period of traditional ablative lasers.

Each treatment option targets specific concerns; with these choices, you can find the perfect match for your unique skin needs. Our goal is to ensure that whatever you’re facing, we have a solution tailored to you.

We’ve all been there: catching our reflection and zeroing in on the heavy eyebags or dark circles. They can feel like uninvited guests, hanging around after a restless night or a stressful week. And let’s be honest—sometimes, no amount of concealer seems to make them go away. It’s frustrating, especially when your eyes are supposed to be the windows to your soul, but lately, they seem to be framed by tired curtains.

So, what do we do? We often reach for those tried-and-true remedies, hoping for a little relief, even if it’s temporary. Cue the classic scene: you, sprawled out in a plush spa robe, cucumber slices on your eyes. It’s become a symbol of ultimate relaxation and a clear message to the world, “I’m busy taking care of me.” Cucumbers are a charming quick fix, but they won’t cut it for everyone. When eye bags feel like they’re here for the long haul, a deeper approach is often needed. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we offer advanced solutions that go beyond the surface, helping you reclaim that bright, refreshed look.

When the Cucumbers Don’t Cut it: Why We Develop Eyebags

Eyebags | Tear Trough Filler in Buffalo, NY | No Surgery Needed!

Do Cumber Slices Actually Work?

Cucumbers didn’t just become the poster image of self-care overnight—they earned their iconic status over centuries, beginning in traditional medicine. In Indian Ayurvedic practices, cucumbers were treasured for their soothing effects and ability to nourish and hydrate the skin.

Then came the media. Somewhere along the line, the sight of cucumber slices on the eyes took root in Western culture as the ultimate symbol of relaxation. Think of all those iconic spa scenes in movies and makeover montages that tell the world, “I’m indulging in some serious me-time.” This image took off because it was more than just a good look; cucumbers delivered some handy benefits.

Cucumbers’ chilled temperature works like a cold compress, quickly reducing puffiness around the eyes, while their high water content gives tired skin a burst of hydration. On top of that, cucumbers pack vitamins C and K, which have antioxidant properties and help brighten those dark circles. In other words, they’re a classic for a reason—natural, easy, and effective, at least for a while.

What Leads to Dark Circles Under Your Eyes?

While a cucumber spa moment can be refreshing, it’s only a temporary solution. When those eye bags feel like they’re here to stay, it takes more than some veggie slices to make a difference.

Under-eye bags often have underlying causes, and addressing those is key to making a real difference. Aging is one of the primary factors—over time, the skin loses collagen and elasticity, leading to sagging and puffiness as muscles weaken and fat shifts.

Genetics also play a significant role. If under-eye bags are common in your family, chances are you’ll notice them, too. Fluid retention is another contributor, often caused by factors like a high-salt diet, hormonal changes, or even shifts in the weather. Lifestyle habits such as inadequate sleep, stress, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption can exacerbate puffiness, making it more pronounced.

Rather than relying on temporary fixes like cucumber slices, a more targeted and consistent approach can yield better, lasting results.

Your Treatment Options for Eyebags

Dermal Fillers

To target under eyes, also known as tear troughs, we offer several non-surgical options to help you achieve a refreshed look. One of the most effective methods is dermal fillers. Our team uses these injectable treatments to add volume and smooth out areas beneath the eyes, creating a rejuvenated appearance.

We typically use hyaluronic acid-based fillers for tear troughs, like Restylane® or Júvederm®. These fillers are popular because they have a strong safety profile and deliver natural-looking results.

These fillers work by restoring lost volume, effectively reducing the appearance of under-eye hollows and puffiness. By adding volume to the hollow areas under your eyes, we effectively “fill in” the depression, reducing that tired, sunken look. Smoothing the surface also improves the way light reflects off your skin, reducing shadows that can make you appear fatigued. Plus, hyaluronic acid has the added benefit of attracting water, improving skin hydration and texture over time.

Collagen Induction

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we offer powerful non-surgical options to rejuvenate the under-eye area, including laser resurfacing and PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy. Both treatments work to reduce puffiness, fine lines, and dark circles by focusing on one critical factor: stimulating collagen production.

Laser resurfacing uses targeted beams of light to precisely remove thin layers of skin around the eyes. By creating controlled micro-injuries, we activate your body’s natural healing process. This step boosts collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin. By increasing collagen, we effectively reduce fine lines, tighten loose skin, and improve overall skin texture. The treatment can also address discoloration and dark circles, restoring a more even tone and giving your eyes a well-rested appearance.

PRP therapy offers a natural approach to revitalizing the under-eye area. We extract platelet-rich plasma from your blood, which contains growth factors that promote healing. When we inject it into the under-eye area, PRP boosts collagen and elastin production, helping to improve skin texture and minimize dark circles. Because PRP uses your body’s own resources, it’s a safe, natural way to achieve a brighter and more youthful look.

Lip enhancement has become a hot topic lately, with more options available than ever before. But achieving the perfect pout isn’t just about adding volume—it’s about choosing a treatment that complements your facial features and personal style. Enter the lip filler and lip flip, two trending techniques that are gaining attention. So, what exactly do they do? And, more importantly, which one aligns with your beauty goals? If you are curious about the differences between a lip flip vs. lip filler, you’re not alone! At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we’re here to make sense of it all and help you discover which option is best suited to your goals. With our guidance, you’ll be well on your way to achieving the lips you’ve been dreaming of.

What Is the Difference Between Lip Filler vs. Lip Flip?

Lip Filler vs. Lip Flip | Injectables in Buffalo, NY | Botox | Fillers

When it comes to lip enhancements, the method you choose can make a big difference in the final look. A lip flip and lip filler both offer unique results, catering to different beauty goals.

For a lip flip, we inject Botox® (or a similar neuromodulator) around your upper lip. This treatment works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles, causing them to relax. The result? Your upper lip subtly flips upward, giving the appearance of a fuller lip without adding actual volume.

On the other hand, with lip fillers, we inject hyaluronic acid directly into your lips. This naturally occurring substance in your skin attracts water, boosting volume and hydration. The result is noticeably fuller, softer lips.

Lip Filler vs. Lip Flip: Which Treatment Is Right for Me?

A lip flip could be an ideal solution if you’re seeking a subtle enhancement, such as correcting a gummy smile or adding definition to your upper lip. This treatment is a great option for those already familiar with Botox, as it offers a less invasive approach that enhances your natural lip shape without adding volume.

On the other hand, if you’re aiming for fuller, more defined lips with noticeable volume, lip fillers would be a better choice. Lip fillers not only increase lip size but also refine shape and symmetry while smoothing fine lines. This makes them a versatile option for anyone looking for both added volume and overall lip rejuvenation.

Can I Combine a Lip Flip With Lip Filler?

Yes, you can combine a lip flip with lip fillers; in many cases, doing so can enhance the overall results. By combining these two treatments, we can address different aspects of lip enhancement. This combination can create a more dramatic and long-lasting effect than either treatment alone.

The customized approach that comes with combining these treatments allows us to tailor a plan specifically for you. For example, if you have a longer philtrum—the area between your nose and upper lip—a lip flip alone might not be sufficient. In some cases, the muscle relaxation from a lip flip could even accentuate the length of the philtrum. However, when we strategically combine a lip flip with fillers, we can enhance the volume of your upper lip, balancing your facial proportions and creating the illusion of a shorter philtrum.

Which Treatment Option Will Look More Natural?

Achieving natural-looking results depends on choosing the treatment that best suits your beauty goals, and we’re here to help guide you in making the right choice. Rest assured, under the care of our skilled team, both options can deliver natural results.

For a subtle, understated change, a lip flip may be ideal, as it enhances your lip’s natural shape without adding volume. If you’re considering lip fillers but worry about looking overdone, don’t be—our experienced team knows how to apply fillers to achieve just the right amount of volume while maintaining the natural balance and shape of your lips.

Whether you choose a lip flip, filler, or a combination of both, our goal is to enhance your natural beauty. We focus on creating results that are refined, balanced, and perfectly complement your features, ensuring a look that’s authentically you.

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we view facial sculpting as an art form where precision and expertise come together to enhance and refine your natural beauty. Our approach highlights the elegance of high, defined cheekbones, the sleek sophistication of a V-shaped jawline, and the symmetry of brows that perfectly frame your face. We meticulously craft each treatment to celebrate the unique contours of your face. Through facial sculpting, we reveal the inherent beauty that is distinctly yours and offer non-surgical treatments tailored to enhance your features in a way that feels authentic to you. With a focus on balance and harmony, we aim to elevate your natural attributes, bringing out the best version of yourself.

Harmonizing Features: Facial Sculpting Tailored To Your Unique Beauty

Facial Sculpting in Buffalo, NY | Dermal Fillers | Botox | Injectables

Facial sculpting and symmetry often go hand in hand, and a concept known as the Golden Ratio plays a big role in this. The Golden Ratio is a mathematical idea that has fascinated artists and scientists for centuries. It represents a balance that many see as naturally beautiful. In terms of facial beauty, the Golden Ratio is a guideline that helps explain why certain features—like the distance between the eyes or the proportions of the nose—are often seen as more attractive. It’s all about achieving a sense of harmony that feels pleasing to the eye.

Symmetry is a key element of beauty, but it’s important to remember that true beauty lies in the harmony of features that are unique to each person. Facial sculpting can enhance this harmony by bringing certain features closer to these balanced proportions, all while respecting and highlighting what makes you uniquely beautiful.

How We Perfect Your Features With Facial Sculpting

Forehead and Eyes

Our skilled practitioners use Botox® to effectively smooth out wrinkles on your forehead and reduce crow’s feet around your eyes. By carefully targeting specific muscles, we relax the areas that cause dynamic lines due to facial expressions. This treatment blocks nerve signals to these muscles, minimizing their activity and creating a smoother, more youthful appearance.

The forehead muscles, especially the frontalis muscle, play a key role in how your eyebrows are positioned. By treating these muscles with precision, we can lift the brows, effectively reducing the appearance of drooping or hooded eyelids—common signs of aging.

Cheeks

We also use dermal fillers like JUVÉDERM® to add volume to your cheeks, enhancing their contour and giving you a youthful appearance. We target areas that may have thinned over time, restoring fullness and improving facial symmetry. By expertly contouring and lifting the mid-face, we restore lost volume and define your cheekbones, addressing early signs of aging and creating a naturally refreshed look.

Lips

Our team can also use hyaluronic acid-based fillers, such as JUVÉDERM® and Restylane®, to contour and enhance your lips. We add volume by carefully injecting these fillers to create more plump lips while enhancing their definition. This treatment is particularly effective for refining the lip borders, such as the cupid’s bow. By using these dermal fillers, we can give your lips a more defined shape.

Jawline

We can use injectable fillers to enhance and define your jawline, creating a sharper distinction between your jaw and neck for a more pronounced and sculpted look. By precisely placing these fillers, we can highlight the natural angles of your jawline, giving it greater definition.

For further refinement, we may also use Botox to relax the masseter muscles (the muscles used for chewing). Softening these muscles can help reduce the width of your jaw, resulting in a slimmer, more balanced facial profile.

Achieving Facial Symmetry: Combining Smile Makeovers With Sculpting

Your smile is vital to facial symmetry and plays a big role in how balanced and harmonious your appearance looks. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we offer dental treatments and facial sculpting services all under one roof.

Dr. Todd Shatkin is one of Buffalo’s top dental implant and cosmetic dentists. He leads our team in transforming smiles through teeth whitening, veneers, mini dental implants, and more. This comprehensive approach ensures that your smile and facial features work together in perfect harmony.

Have you ever admired a beautifully contoured lip with a precise dip right at the center? Did you know there’s a name for this feature? It’s called the Cupid’s bow. This specific lip shape is characterized by a double curve in the center of the upper lip, reminiscent of Cupid’s bow, the Roman god of love. The distinctive peaks create a pronounced “M” shape or a heart-like appearance. Enhancing the aesthetic appeal of your lips can create a fuller, more defined look that many of us dream of. A well-defined Cupid’s bow adds a touch of elegance and balance to your smile, making it even more charming. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we provide a range of non-surgical cosmetic treatments designed to highlight and enhance your Cupid’s bow, helping it complement your unique facial features beautifully.

Non-Surgical Treatment Options for Enhancing Cupid’s Bow Lips

Dermal Fillers

Cupid's Bow Lips | Lip Fillers in Buffalo, NY | Botox | Lip Flip

Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are typically the ideal type of filler for lip augmentation. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we primarily use trusted HA fillers like Juvederm® and Restylane®.

We add small filler along the vertical lines above your upper lip, called philtral columns. This process lifts and defines your Cupid’s bow, giving your lips a youthful look.

Next, we carefully inject filler along the edge of your lips, especially around the peaks of the Cupid’s bow. This step helps to highlight the ‘M’ shape and gives your lips a more pronounced and elegant appearance. We may also use a small amount of filler at the corners of your mouth to create a slight upward turn, helping to counteract the natural downward turn that can occur with aging.

Lifting these corners makes the points where your upper and lower lips meet, known as the oral commissures, look more youthful. This technique reduces the appearance of marionette lines and enhances the overall shape of your mouth, giving your lips a gentle yet attractive curve.

Botox-Neurotoxin

We also offer a technique known as a ‘lip flip’ to enhance your Cupid’s bow using Botox. This popular method involves injecting small amounts of botulinum toxin around the upper lip to achieve a subtle lift and improve the definition of the Cupid’s bow without adding volume.

A lip flip treatment works by relaxing the orbicularis oris muscle surrounding the lips. Relaxing the muscle subtly enhances the lip’s appearance by allowing the upper lip to roll slightly outward. As a result, the lip appears fuller, and the Cupid’s bow is more defined, providing a natural-looking enhancement.

Dermal Fillers vs. Botox: Which Option Is Best of Cupid’s Bow Lips

At your appointment at our MedSpa, we will review your options to determine which solution best aligns with your goals. For those specifically aiming to enhance the shape and definition of Cupid’s bow, we use dermal fillers to add volume and create a more pronounced contour. Hyaluronic acid, the main component in these fillers, mimics natural substances found in the skin, resulting in a soft, natural feel that enhances your lips without looking artificial. Fillers provide instant volume, giving your lips a more youthful appearance.

Alternatively, we use Botox to achieve a subtle lift. Often, we can combine Botox with fillers for optimal results. This combination can create a soft, natural look that enhances your lips without appearing overdone. Additionally, we can improve lip symmetry, helping to correct asymmetries and providing a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing lip shape.

What You Can Expect From Your Lip Treatment

The procedure starts with a consultation with our skilled team to discuss your aesthetic goals. During this visit, we will answer any questions you may have about your treatment. To ensure your comfort, we apply a topical anesthetic to your lips, effectively minimizing any discomfort during the injection process. Our practitioners then perform the injections precisely, carefully sculpting your lips to achieve the desired shape and volume.

After the treatment, we provide comprehensive guidance on what to expect during recovery, including practical tips for managing swelling and bruising. You’ll also receive aftercare instructions to help you maintain the best results.

Wrinkles, those fine lines and creases that appear as we age, tell a story. They can be seen as a badge of honor, each one a testament to a life well-lived. These marks on our skin reflect the laughter, worry, and experiences we’ve gathered over the years. For many, embracing wrinkles is a celebration of the wisdom and resilience that comes with time. However, there comes a moment when we might wish to smooth away some of those lines. If you’re considering treatments for wrinkles, know that a range of non-surgical options are available. Whether your goal is to refresh your appearance or make a more subtle change, we offer various treatments at the Aesthetic Associates Centre. These options can help you achieve a smoother, more youthful complexion.

How Wrinkles Form: Preparing for Your Treatments

Treatments for Wrinkles in Buffalo, NY | Injectables | Microneedling

Wrinkles may be a normal part of aging, but have you ever wondered how they form? Intrinsic aging is the natural, inevitable decline in skin quality over time. This process occurs as our cells gradually lose their ability to function optimally, leading to visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines. The slow degradation of collagen and elastin and decreased cell turnover make our skin less resilient and more prone to developing wrinkles.

On the other hand, extrinsic aging is caused by external factors like sun exposure, smoking, and pollution that accelerate wrinkle formation. Environmental stressors such as UV radiation and pollution generate free radicals that can damage skin structure, leading to premature wrinkles. These external influences can significantly speed up aging, making preventive care and protective measures essential for maintaining healthier, youthful skin.

Then, there is an occurrence called cellular senescence. As skin cells accumulate damage over time, they enter a state of senescence or a “zombie-like” state where they stop dividing but don’t die off. Imagine your skin cells are like a bunch of workers building a house. As they work over time, some become old, tired, and damaged. These damaged cells can’t function properly anymore. Instead, these “zombie” cells release chemicals similar to toxic fumes. These harmful chemicals spread and degrade the structure of your skin. The collagen and elastin in your skin act like the walls of a house. As they weaken, your skin starts to sag and wrinkle, much like a house would if its walls began to crumble.

Which Treatments Are Best for Targetting Wrinkles?

Laser Therapy

There are several types of laser therapy for skin rejuvenation, each offering its own set of benefits. Traditional laser skin resurfacing works by heating the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production to achieve smoother, firmer skin with fewer wrinkles.

In contrast, PicoSure Laser Skin Rejuvenation uses ultra-short pulses of energy to trigger collagen production, effectively targeting fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage with minimal discomfort and downtime.

Injectables

Botox is a neuromodulator that temporarily paralyzes the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by repeated muscle movements, including frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines.

On the other hand, dermal fillers have a gel-like consistency that adds volume and fullness to the skin. They target static wrinkles and folds, which are caused by the loss of facial volume and elasticity over time. Fillers work by physically filling in and plumping up areas of the face, such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and thin lips.

Microneedling

Microneedling is an effective treatment for reducing the appearance of wrinkles by stimulating the skin’s natural healing process. The microneedling device creates tiny, controlled punctures in the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing response. This response increases the production of collagen and elastin, proteins that provide the skin with structure, firmness, and elasticity. As new collagen and elastin are produced, they fill in and plump up wrinkles and fine lines, smoothing the skin’s texture.

Additionally, microneedling enhances the absorption of topical serums and creams containing ingredients like hyaluronic acid and peptides. These ingredients further boost collagen production and hydration, reducing wrinkles even more effectively.

Morpheus8, known as radiofrequency microneedling, is a fractional skin treatment that boosts collagen production in the dermis’s deeper layers. Focusing on these deeper layers naturally prompts the skin’s building blocks to reorganize, leading to a rejuvenated and youthful look.

Our skin often bears the brunt of harsh elements. We expose our skin daily to pollution, UV rays, and changing weather conditions. Life’s pressures and the daily grind also take their toll, leaving our skin looking tired and aged. Over time, these factors collectively leave their marks, resulting in fine lines, uneven texture, and dark spots. When we see these effects in the mirror, it’s a daily reminder of the battles our skin faces. But what if we want to correct these issues? How do we know which solution will work best? The world of skincare is full of options, each one promising to bring back that youthful glow. Among them, photorejuvenation shines as a standout treatment, offering a gentle yet effective way to tackle common skin concerns. It’s a favorite for anyone looking to refresh their complexion and boost their skin’s natural radiance.

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we’re proud to offer photorejuvenation along with other treatments designed to enhance your skin’s health and beauty, helping you feel refreshed and confident.

What Is Photorejuvenation?

Photorejuvenation Treatment in Buffalo, NY | Photofacial | MedSpa

Photorejuvenation is a nonsurgical cosmetic treatment that uses light-based technologies to improve the appearance and texture of the skin. It primarily employs intense pulsed light (IPL) or lasers to target various skin concerns. The treatment involves delivering controlled pulses of light that are absorbed by specific structures beneath the skin. This absorption of light energy leads to the selective destruction of these targeted structures, improving skin tone, texture, and overall appearance.

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we use the Cynosure Icon® IPL Photofacial laser. The Cynosure ICON Aesthetic Laser System is a state-of-the-art platform renowned in the industry. It provides many treatments beyond IPL, including skin revitalization, scar treatment, and wrinkle reduction.

What Can Photorejuvenation Do for My Skin?

The Cynosure ICON Aesthetic Laser System is a versatile and advanced photorejuvenation platform that addresses various skin concerns. Unlike other IPL systems, which focus primarily on pigmentation issues, the Cynosure ICON offers comprehensive solutions for conditions such as acne scars, rosacea, and vascular lesions.

Sun Damage and Pigmentation

Prolonged sun exposure can lead to various skin issues, including wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots. Cynosure helps reduce these signs of aging by targeting damaged skin cells and stimulating collagen production, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Hyperpigmentation, such as dark spots or patches, often results from sun exposure or aging. With the Cynosure laser, we effectively target areas of hyperpigmentation, breaking down excess melanin to create an even skin tone. We also treat freckles or dark spots caused by genetics or sun exposure.

By targeting the pigmented cells, the Cynosure laser also reduces the appearance of freckles and promotes a more uniform complexion.

Redness and Vascular Concerns

We also use the Cynosure laser to effectively treat vascular issues by targeting the blood vessels with specific wavelengths of light. The hemoglobin in the blood vessels absorbs the light energy, causing them to coagulate and collapse. This process reduces the appearance of visible vessels without damaging the surrounding skin tissue.

Conditions like diffuse redness, often caused by rosacea or sun damage, can be significantly improved with the Cynosure laser. The laser reduces overall redness and enhances skin clarity by targeting the blood vessels responsible for the redness. Similarly, small blood vessels near the skin’s surface, which appear as red or purple lines or spots, are effectively treated, resulting in clearer skin.

Our skilled team can also use the laser to address vascular lesions like port wine stains, hemangiomas, and other birthmarks. The laser targets the blood vessels within these lesions and reduces their visibility, improving skin appearance.

Acne Scars

Acne scars, whether raised, depressed, or discolored, can be challenging to treat. The Cynosure laser uses fractional laser technology to stimulate the skin’s natural healing process, reducing the appearance of scars and improving skin texture. This laser works by triggering the body’s natural response to injury, producing new collagen. As new collagen forms, it improves skin texture and reduces the visibility of scars, resulting in smoother and clearer skin.

Facial symmetry is often seen as a hallmark of beauty. When our features are aligned and balanced, it can make our faces look more harmonious and appealing. But even if we’re born with a perfectly symmetrical face, life has a way of changing things. Age, injuries, and daily stress can all take a toll on our skin and affect its natural harmony. Facial balancing has become quite popular as a way to tackle these changes. This cosmetic procedure aims to enhance facial symmetry and proportion using dermal fillers. By strategically injecting fillers, we can smooth out irregularities and restore harmony to our features. The result is a naturally balanced and refreshed look, helping you feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin. Whether subtle adjustments or more noticeable corrections, facial balancing can help you achieve a look that makes you feel your best.

The Reality of Facial Symmetry

Facial Balancing in Buffalo, NY | Injectable | Dermal Filler | MedSpa

We often admire facial symmetry in others, but a perfectly symmetrical face is actually quite rare. Various factors contribute to facial asymmetry, making each face unique.

  • Aging and natural processes: As we age, gravity, volume loss, and decreased skin elasticity can cause an imbalance in our facial features.
  • Collagen decline: From around age 25, collagen production starts to decline. Collagen is essential for maintaining the skin’s firmness and elasticity. As its production decreases, the skin begins to sag and appear less firm.
  • Moisture loss: The epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin and is vital for maintaining hydration by preventing excessive water loss. As we age, the epidermis’s overall function declines, making it less effective at retaining moisture, which leads to drier and less elastic skin.
  • UV exposure: Overexposure to UV rays accelerates the loss of skin elasticity and leads to premature aging, a condition known as solar elastosis.
  • Sleep habits: The way we sleep plays a significant role. Sleeping predominantly on one side of the face creates constant pressure and friction, altering facial features and leading to wrinkles.

Unfortunately, changes in our facial features may often be out of our control. However, various non-surgical treatment options are available to help restore facial balance and enhance our natural beauty.

What Is Facial Balancing?

Facial balancing is a nonsurgical, minimally invasive treatment. The treatment aims to create a more harmonious and balanced appearance by addressing facial asymmetries and restoring lost volume. This technique involves injecting hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers like Juvéderm® and Restylane® into specific areas of the face, such as the cheeks, jawline, chin, and lips. By adding volume and definition to these regions, facial balancing enhances the proportions of facial features, resulting in a more balanced look.

During the process, a skilled team member will carefully administer these hyaluronic acid-based fillers to the targeted areas. The fillers work to plump and lift the skin, contouring your face according to your beauty goals. The results are subtle yet effective, offering natural-looking improvements without surgery.

Hyaluronic Acid: The Science Behind Facial Balancing

Fillers containing hyaluronic acid are ideal for facial balancing due to their unique properties and natural compatibility with the body. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally found substance that attracts and holds water, keeping skin hydrated and plump. When injected into the skin, hyaluronic acid provides a “filling” effect that smooths out wrinkles and adds volume to areas that have lost it, such as the cheeks, lips, and under the eyes.

One of the key benefits of hyaluronic acid fillers is their ability to attract water, which further plumps up the skin and provides a hydrating effect. This process helps revitalize and restore volume to aging skin, making it look more youthful and refreshed. Hyaluronic acid fillers are also soft and gel-like, perfect for creating natural-looking results. They can be precisely injected to sculpt and contour the face without looking overdone. Because of their natural origin and compatibility, hyaluronic acid fillers integrate seamlessly with your skin, ensuring a smooth and natural appearance.

When you hear “brow lift,” you might picture an invasive surgery with extensive prep and downtime. While a surgical brow lift offers a permanent solution, not everyone is ready to commit to such a procedure. So, what if there was a less invasive option that could still give you the results you desire? As we venture through our own beauty journies, we may toy with the idea of alterations here and there, but it is helpful to know that there are options you can choose from that don’t require a significant commitment. Well, a brow lift with Botox is exactly that: a beauty enhancement with little to no downtime. The best part? This treatment is entirely on your terms. If you like what you see, you can return for another appointment. It’s that simple!

At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we understand that not everyone is ready to plunge head-first into surgery. That is why we offer Botox® as a noninvasive alternative for achieving a youthful, lifted appearance without a major procedure.

Are You Considering a Brow Lift?

Botox Brow Lift in Buffalo, NY | Injectable | Wrinkles and Fine Lines

Many people notice their eyebrows sagging or sitting too low, which makes them look tired or grumpy. These changes can be frustrating, especially when people comment on them. The main reason for this sagging is the loss of skin elasticity, a natural part of aging that causes the eyebrow area to lose firmness and begin to droop.

We also notice our forehead muscles weakening over time. As these muscles lose strength, they provide less support for our eyebrows. Aging, combined with gravity and sun exposure, further contributes to this issue. Excessive sun exposure speeds up the breakdown of collagen and elastin, worsening skin laxity and causing the brows to sag even more. The constant downward pull of gravity also contributes to the sagging of the brows as the supportive structures weaken with age. Thanks to all of these factors, it is likely that you are searching for a way to escape the constant question: “Are you alright? You look upset.”

How Does a Botox Brow Lift Work?

A Botox® brow lift is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that uses Botox injections to lift the eyebrows. This treatment creates a more youthful and refreshed appearance on the upper face. Unlike a standard brow lift, which requires incisions, we perform a Botox brow lift by strategically injecting botulinum toxin (Botox) into specific muscles between the eyebrows and the forehead area.

Botox is injected between the eyebrows (glabellar area) to soften the muscles that pull the brows downward. This process allows the muscles in your forehead to relax and lift the brows slightly. Injections may also be placed directly in the forehead muscles (frontalis) to reduce their ability to pull the brows down further. We can also use injections near the outer corners of the brows to create a more pronounced arch.

Why Should I Consider a Botox Brow Lift?

What advantages come with opting for a Botox® brow lift? Well, this might be a great option if you’re looking for a way to ditch the frown lines and forehead wrinkles without extensive surgery. Botox brow lifts are a minimally invasive injectable treatment that will leave you looking refreshed and more youthful. Injectable treatments are also much quicker than surgical procedures, allowing you to return to your daily routines almost immediately. Additionally, these treatments are typically a more affordable option and provide a more budget-friendly alternative. Plus, the results are temporary, lasting around 3 to 4 months or longer, allowing you to see how you like them before committing to further treatment!

Learn More About What Botox Can Do for You!

The telltale signs of aging around the brows can make us all self-conscious. If you’re looking for a way to achieve a more refreshed, youthful appearance without the commitment of surgery, a Botox brow lift might be the perfect option. Ready to learn more? Perfection is subjective, but symmetry often plays a crucial role in our perception of balance and harmony, especially concerning our facial features. If you are concerned about uneven lips and seeking a solution, we’re here to help. An asymmetry in lip shape, drooping, or an uneven cupid’s bow can be caused by aging, genetics, or even sun exposure and is a common issue that can be corrected with minimally invasive procedures.

At Aesthetic Associates Centre, we offer facial dermal fillers, including JUVÉDERM® and Restylane®, to help restore volume to the lips. These treatments can offer a quick, effective, and non-surgical method to achieve a more balanced look. Fortunately, fillers work particularly well on asymmetrical lips because they can add a subtle yet precise boost of volume right where it is needed. If you are unhappy with the asymmetry of your lips, lip fillers can assist in restoring balance.

Do You Have Uneven Lips? Uneven Lips in Buffalo, NY | Lip Fillers | Facial Dermal Fillers

If you tend to notice or feel self-conscious about your uneven lips, you’re not alone. Asymmetrical or thin lips often result from the underdevelopment of one or both lips, leading to an uneven, less plump appearance.

Several factors can make your lips look different or change shape over time. Thinning or asymmetry in lips can occur due to genetics, lip trauma, or metabolic conditions. Aesthetic changes are also a natural part of the aging process. As we age, the reduction in collagen around and within the lip and the weariness of muscles surrounding the mouth contribute to the thinning of lips.

What Are Lip Fillers?

There are various solutions available if you are looking for a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure to achieve a more symmetrical look for your lips. A popular solution in recent years is injectible lip fillers. These can provide natural-looking results, allowing individuals to achieve subtle lip volume and contour enhancements. The increased popularity of lip fillers is part of a larger trend in non-invasive cosmetic procedures.

Dermal fillers are soft, gel-like substances injected under the skin. In the case of lip fillers, the gel is injected directly into and around the lips using an ultra-fine needle that plumps the lips to achieve augmentation. This minimally invasive injection temporarily smooths the appearance of lines around the mouth and adds volume.

Popular fillers, like Juvéderm® and Restylane®, contain hyaluronic acid, which helps the body retain moisture in the skin and restores volume loss in certain areas of the face. Thanks to the hyaluronic acid, these fillers offer greater longevity, fewer side effects, a more natural appearance, and easier administration. Dermal fillers have become increasingly popular because they offer a safe, quick, and effective method for augmenting the lips without undergoing surgery. By strategically increasing lip volume, fillers can create a more symmetrical look.

What to Expect When Getting Lip Filler

The procedure is quick and yields immediate results. Plus, it’s virtually painless, with the majority of individuals experiencing only mild discomfort during the injection.

Some common side effects following your lip filler procedure include:

  • Tenderness
  • Slight discoloration
  • Redness
  • Bumps
  • Bruising or swelling

These side effects are temporary and typically subside within 24 to 48 hours. Additionally, it is important to stress that a licensed professional administering your treatment is crucial. At Aesthetic Associates Centre, our team provides safe and effective treatments tailored to enhance lip volume and redefine lips.

If you are considering dermal fillers, you’re likely wondering how long results last. Each individual is different, and the duration of your results will depend on specific factors like your age and metabolism. For Juvederm and Restylane, results typically last between six and 18 months.

Transform Your Uneven Lips Today

Dermal fillers are a remarkable method for addressing uneven lips because they offer the same results as surgical procedures but are not as invasive. Enhancing your lips is achievable through non-invasive procedures available at Aesthetic Associates Centre. For over 30 years, Dr. Samuel Shatkin Jr. and his team have been committed to delivering exceptional care and helping our patients feel more confident.
